My Story
Champagne taste on a sparkling wine sorta budget. Located in the beautiful state of Illinois.
My Travel Style
As a mom of two young kids, I love to travel with my family to experience new places. I love good coffee, good food and a good beach. I love vacations where I sit on a beach and do as little as possible, but I also love a jam-packed city itinerary. I have champagne taste on a sparkling wine budget. (Meaning — I would love to stay in the world's best hotels each and every time I travel, but I can't spend $$$$). If you're looking for a luxurious trip without breaking the bank, you're in the right place!

Labor Day Weekend in Scottsdale, Arizona
After the postponement of our Maui trip, my family and I decided we needed a long weekend trip that would satisfy our need for palm trees and blue skies. After brainstorming locations, we decided Scottsdale, AZ met our requirements: a lovely hotel with multiple swimming pools, stunning weather, and the opportunity to eat at two of our favorite places and indulge in more than one drink at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.

7-Night Alaska Dawes Glacier Cruise
This past June, my family and I embarked on a 7-night cruise to Alaska aboard the Celebrity Solstice. While many people visit Alaska to embrace their adventurous side, we knew our trip would be a little different because we chose to travel with our eight and six-year-old. However, we could not wait to explore a new part of the country and further the boys' appreciation for the world we live in. Alaska did not let us down! From black bears fishing for lunch to an infinite number of waterfalls, it was without a doubt the trip of a lifetime!
Before our cruise departed, we spent three nights at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in downtown Seattle. We enjoyed the downtown location of this hotel and walked to several different attractions. We visited Pike Place market and sampled some salmon jerky. We ventured out and took pictures in front of the chewing gum wall and tried as many of the different restaurants as we could. We also enjoyed a ride on the Seattle Great Wheel, which afforded us amazing views of the city and also Mt. Rainier in the distance. We also made a half-day trip to Bainbridge Island, which was just a short ferry ride from downtown Seattle, but felt like a whole different world. We had breakfast and spent time wandering around the quaint downtown area to do some window shopping and the beautiful marina.
