The San Diego area is amazing because it has everything! A Mediterranean climate year-round, beaches that range from mellow to wild, tacos that will make you never be able to eat a taco anywhere else again, and a vibe that balances laid-back with adventurous. You can surf in the morning, hike a canyon in the afternoon, and eat fresh seafood on a rooftop by sunset. And don’t even get me started on winter fun!

Winter travel to Japan is such a unique and special experience — it’s like stepping into a completely different world. The snowy landscapes are absolutely stunning, and if you’re into skiing or snowboarding, the powder in places like Niseko is unreal. One of my favorite things is soaking in an onsen surrounded by snow — it’s so peaceful and rejuvenating. The winter food is next-level, too — nabe hot pot, fresh crab and those roasted sweet potatoes you can grab from street vendors just warm you right up. Plus, the winter illuminations are breathtaking, and festivals like the Sapporo Snow Festival make it feel like a magical celebration of the season. It’s the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation and cultural charm.

Zion National Park is special because of its jaw-dropping landscapes, from towering sandstone cliffs to narrow canyons and winding rivers. The diversity of its terrain offers something for everyone, whether you're into hiking, rock climbing or just soaking in the views. Plus, it’s home to some of the most iconic trails, like Angels Landing, that give a real sense of adventure. There's also a unique tranquility in Zion that makes it feel like a hidden gem in the heart of nature.

The gay district in Tokyo, specifically Shinjuku Ni-chome, is special to me because it’s like stepping into this vibrant, unapologetic space full of life and individuality. It’s packed with bars, clubs and cafes that feel so inclusive, making it easy to connect with people from all walks of life. I love how it’s not just a nightlife hub but also a place with a rich history of LGBTQ+ activism and community building in Japan. There’s something really inspiring about how the area has thrived, especially in a society that can still be pretty conservative.

Japan has always felt like a blend of everything I love — science, tech, tradition and a bit of sci-fi sprinkled into daily life. It’s like stepping into a world where the future and the past hold hands. I could spend hours wandering around Akihabara, diving into gadgets and gaming culture, then bike through Kyoto’s serene streets to find a quiet tea shop that feels like it’s frozen in time. The whole culture around precision and care, whether it’s in a perfectly brewed cup of coffee or the artistry in something as simple as a ramen bowl, resonates with me. And don’t even get me started on the vending machines — hot coffee in a can? That’s genius-level convenience. Japan just feels like a place where every detail matters, and I find that inspiring.

Wilmington, a bustling riverfront city, stands as the most accessible coastal destination within North Carolina. The pedestrian-oriented downtown riverwalk traverses the Cape Fear River, seamlessly integrating the city’s commercial establishments, culinary venues and vibrant nightlife with waterfront hotels, parks and the Port City Marina. Year-round, annual festivals such as Riverfest and the renowned North Carolina Azalea Festival draw substantial crowds. Moreover, three adjacent island beaches provide an array of dining options, attractions and water sports experiences. You're never far from the action, no matter where you stay!
