I am a globetrotter, hotel aficionado, airline enthusiast and food lover. I enjoy connecting people to amazing trips and experiences.
My Travel Style
I like to explore places on foot. Walking around gives you a better feel for the people and local culture. It also lets you find hidden gems that you might miss while sitting in a car or bus. Normally, I arrive in a new place with a bit of research and spending time on Google Maps to save interesting places to eat and explore. But I usually skip a detailed itinerary to leave room for the unknown. Hotels are one of the highlights of travel for me. I enjoy hotels with interesting design choices, great amenities and fantastic service. Food is also a top priority. I usually have more places I want to try than room in my stomach.

Benjamin offered timely and useful tips and advice. All bookings were complete and accurate. I received confirmation emails from Benjamin prior to the trips in a timely manner. Lisbon can be a tricky hotel market - the recent tourism boom has outpaced the supply of rooms, especially those that don’t cater to influencers. That’s why I was impressed by this Hyatt Benjamin found, tucked away in a quiet neighborhood away from crowds, which was exactly what I wanted for a relaxed trip with parents.
Impressively, he managed to secure upgrades to suites over the busy Christmas season (notably for two rooms across multiple days) that were essentially furnished apartments, complete with in-unit laundry and kitchens. He also arranged for breakfast and a restaurant credit that we used to try some local Portuguese dishes. To top it all off, upon arrival, we received a fun welcome amenity of (what else?) Portuguese Port Wine and Pasties de Nata.
All of this, despite my having no status with Hyatt. Obrigado Benjamin for making this a memorable (and importantly when traveling with family, a hassle-free) stay!

Mr. van der Horst was very responsive and was able to get us a great deal at the resort we really wanted to go. Better still, he was able to get us a last-minute upgrade to a part of the resort that doesn't normally take children (we had a three-year-old at the time). To do that, he was communicating with us every few minutes to make sure it would work out. We ended up having a magical Christmas vacation as a result. It was such a good experience, we came back to him for our next big trip.
