I’m just as likely to jet off to see a major art exhibit as I am to explore the great outdoors. Boutique hotels with local flavor, luxe resorts with a jaw-dropping pool, and lodges with stupefying views rank high among my preferred places to stay. On the ground, I’m always scouting for local designers, neighborhood restaurants, emerging hotspots and creative cocktail bars.
