Travel Style
I'm all about uncovering the soul of a destination, focusing on intimate cultural immersion and unexpected discoveries far from the tourist crowds. My itineraries are often woven around the pursuit of culinary delights, unique breweries, fine wines, compelling museums, and the beauty of the outdoors, whether that's a scenic hike or a tranquil botanic garden. Traveling exclusively by road with my two small pups, I also have a knack for finding the best pet-friendly adventures. My goal is always to create a perfectly balanced experience: authentic local connection and the freedom to explore at your own pace, ensuring affordability without compromising on simple pleasures and those well-earned comforts.

I haven’t used a travel planner in years, if ever. My experience with Amanda was first rate. Amanda put together a package for me at Mountain Lake Lodge that I would never have thought of. In this package was a meal plan. At first, I didn’t think I would be able to spend the entire amount that was included. Not only did I use this, I exceeded it, as it was vital in this area. Fortunately, the food provided at the lodge was exceptional. I made sure to eat there just to experience the next thing on the menu! Yum!
The other thing Amanda provided was a customized map of things to explore in the area. It took the guess work out of my trip planning. In fact, my trip planning was unnecessary because Amanda found more things for me to explore and experience than I did. And it was perfectly suited to my taste. My two favorites were the massage therapist (I gave Amanda rough parameters of what I wanted and she found the perfect therapist) and the hike to Cascade Falls. Amanda strongly encouraged me to take this hike and I’m so glad I did. It was the best one of all that I planned that week. But the best thing about Amanda? I was on a hike by myself earlier in the week, and got lost. I called her and she guided me back onto a safe path back to the lodge. I will never forget this! Talk about personal and immediate service!
I will certainly be contacting Ms. Shaffer and Two Drifters for my next adventure!!!

Amanda is a planner with a mission. I don’t plan for trips very well and I usually pay for that in the experience being less than ideal. However, Amanda is focused on getting to know your requirements for the trip and then researching your destinations to find the options that fit the bill, then you can choose from a distilled list. She came up with quite a number of fun activities to choose from, and they weren’t typical.

It was an extremely last minute need and Amanda found me a great place in a safe area at a great rate. Couldn’t have asked for more. I wouldn’t have known about this hotel if it weren’t for her. I’m grateful for Amanda’s quick response and follow through in securing this room for me.
