Things to do

Seychelles

Seychelles has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, including Anse Source D'Argent. While you could likely spend your entire trip relaxing at a luxury resort on the beach, there are many islands nearby that allow for both day and overnight island hopping trips, beautiful waters for scuba diving and snorkeling, and some amazing local food. For the active types, there is rock climbing, zip lining, and Morne National park.

Zanzibar

Zanzibar is a small island off the coast of Tanzania, and great to visit after a safari in the Serengeti as you won't need to clear customs again and it is a short plane ride. Zanzibar offers not only some of the most luxurious Muslim-influenced all-inclusive resorts (next to Dubai) on the eastern side of the island but the historical Stone Town on the western side of the island. For those wanting a more private and upscale experience, Mnemba island is a short boat ride from Zanzibar.

Mauritius

From white sandy beaches to waterfalls to Black River Gorges National Park and of course the Seven Colored Earths sand dunes, Mauritius has one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Indian ocean. Mauritius offers the perfect balance of culture, outdoor activities, and relaxation.

Places to eat & drink

While many of these islands offer resorts with all-inclusive options, there are some excellent local options to get a real taste of the culture:

Seychelles

  • Café des Arts: a top-tier Praslin restaurant located on the Côte d'Or beach with an excellent choice of foods.

  • Beach Bar & Grill: Looking for an amazing view with some amazing local Creole-inspired food? This is the place for you!

Zanzibar

  • The Rock: arguably the most scenic restaurant in all of Africa, The Rock (not named after Dwayne) sits on top of a rock and only has 12 tables.

  • House of Spices: Zanzibar is known for its long-standing spice industry, and this restaurant not only captures the rich history of flavor, but also decor.

Mauritius

  • La Table du Château: upscale food at reasonable prices with excellent service.

  • Inti: looking for a perfect ending to your honeymoon or safari? Inti is the perfect intimate restaurant with both indoor and outdoor dining with amazing views, service and food.
