Curator’s statement

Amalfi is one of those places on everyone's bucket lists, and then once you go- you're hooked forever. The scent of lemon everywhere, the taste of spaghetti al vongole, iced white wines, it's tough to beat una vera Estate Italiana anywhere else in the world. And of course, here we have some of the top hotels in Italy, let alone Europe. From small boutique hotels to true grand dames, here are my top picks.

Things to do in Amalfi Coast

coastal town built on a the side of a cliff with a harbor below
  • Delicious, long, boozy lunches.

  • Beautiful hikes up to the Path of Gods, Punta Campanella, Tre Calli.

  • Cooking classes under the lemon trees.

  • If you're visiting in July, make sure you don't miss the classical musical festival in Ravello that happens every year - and once a year in August, they have a special sunrise programme. Truly a highlight of any trip to the coast.

  • Don't miss a walk up to Villa Cimbrone once in Ravello and enjoy a sunset stroll in these beautiful gardens.

  • Dance the night away at Anema e Cuore, one of the most famous nightclubs in Italy, where celebrities have sung and danced for years.

  • Sunset drinks in Capri's Piazzetta is not to be missed.

  • A favorite stop off on the road to Amalfi from Naples is Concettina ai Tre Santi. Enjoy a tasting menu of the best pizza you've ever tasted in your life! Highly worth it.

  • Take a day trip to Capri, Ischia, Positano, Sorrento, or Pompeii.
