Virgin Voyages’ Fire and Sunset Soirées is such an easy, fun, and genuinely refreshing getaway, especially if you’re looking for something a little more grown-up. We stayed in a Cheeky Corner Rockstar Suite, and that alone changed the whole vibe of the trip. Early access to book dinners, priority everything, and having a Rockstar agent who actually checks in and takes care of things before you even think to ask, it just made everything feel smooth and stress-free. From the minute we stepped on board, we could tell this cruise was going to be different in the best way.

The itinerary is short, but honestly feels like the perfect reset. Key West is playful and fun—you can wander, grab a drink, people-watch, and just have a good time without needing a plan. Bimini was calm, beachy, and so beautiful that you instantly feel like you’re on vacation the second your feet hit the sand. You can be as active or as lazy as you want, and both options feel right.

What really made this cruise special were the small moments. Our Rockstar agent, Flo, was a gem, always around, always helpful, and somehow always one step ahead. The birthday surprises were a highlight, too. Coming back to find our door decorated and a bottle of champagne waiting inside made the day feel genuinely personal and memorable. I’d recommend this sailing to couples, friends, or honestly anyone who wants an easy, fun, adults-only escape without the typical “cruise” feel. A couple of practical tips: the weather in this region can change quickly, but Virgin’s crew is fantastic about adjusting schedules and keeping plenty of activities available on board. Even when things shift, you never feel like you’re missing out. Definitely book your dining in advance if you can, and try as many restaurants as possible. Gumbae is an absolute must—fun, energetic, and honestly some of the tastiest food on the ship, plus the social vibe is something you don’t really get anywhere else onboard.

For shows in The Red Room or The Manor, plan to get there early. Seats fill up fast, and arriving 30 minutes ahead makes a big difference. If you’re sailing as a Rockstar, go a little earlier, about 35 minutes, so you can take advantage of priority seating. And truly, if it’s in your budget, the Rockstar Suites are worth every penny. You get a stocked minibar, included room deliveries (even mixers so you can make your favorite drinks), and the kind of service that makes you feel genuinely cared for.

Don’t skip the group classes either. There’s more than just fitness—there are themed workouts and fun throwback sessions. We did a hilarious VHS Workout class where the host and a bunch of people showed up in full ’80s outfits. It’s just a good reminder that everyone on this ship is there to have fun. You’ll also find line dancing, pop-up activities, and surprise events that appear on the app throughout the day, so keep an eye on the schedule—there’s always something fun to jump into.
