Curator’s statement
Cunard is a leading luxury brand, and it’s been a bucket-list cruise for me for years. I love the British influence—from the food, to the music, to the ballroom dancing and the Queen’s high tea. Spectacular!

We hopped on board the glorious Queen Elizabeth on July 3, 2025, with a destination of Alaska and Victoria, British Columbia. From the moment we stepped into the cruise terminal, we were met by happy, smiling Cunard employees—one even sang to us!
Our rooms were ready even though we boarded a bit early. The rooms were clean and properly appointed. I must add that the beds were incredibly comfortable and the pillows and duvets were so warm and cozy—perfect for Alaska, even in July!
We made our way to the buffet area for lunch and were surprised by the number of authentic British dishes, such as kippers. I made it a practice to try something new every day.

Cunard Garden Room
Our voyage was extra special, as we were able to attend two gala nights and, by invitation, a special cocktail party hosted by the captain. The gala nights were so fun, with almost everyone sporting their best looks for the Ice White Ball and the Masquerade Ball. At these events, it was fun just to watch all of the ballroom dancers.
Our trip included a trip down the inside passage of Alaska, where we stopped in Juneau and Skagway and spent half a day slowly cruising through Glacier Bay. The whale-watching was spectacular.

Humpback whale–watching excursion
We found plenty of things to do onboard, including yoga, ballroom dancing lessons, Bingo, lounging by the pool snuggled up in blankets, a silent disco party, and so much more. There was never an opportunity to be bored. Having said that, we also found the ship to be extremely spacious. We could always find a quiet place to relax. This was my first time in an inside cabin, which I chose due to the amount of daylight present—I wanted to be sure I slept well. It was a good move. I saved money and slept like a baby.

Cunard Pool deck #1—there are two
Every Cunard employee we encountered was a pure joy to talk to. We loved hearing about where they were from and about their families and plans for the future.
We embarked upon two excursions. The first was a whale-watching trip in Juneau, where we saw so many whales, sea lions, seals, and sea otters. We also took an excursion in Skagway—to the Yukon area—and crossed a suspension bridge before enjoying a fresh salmon lunch in Liarsville. The scenery in the Yukon was beyond beautiful. Our final stop was in Victoria, BC, where we decided to walk the city for the day. We had beautiful weather, ate great food, and shopped until we dropped. This was indeed a bucket-list trip—one that I highly recommend. Cunard knocked it out of the park. I can’t wait to set sail with them again soon.
