I tend to be the type of person who hurries to the next thing—always moving, always in a rush. It isn’t often that I find myself in a hotel that inspires me to slow down without even realizing it.

Driving through Midtown Atlanta, I began to notice the high-rise buildings paired with small, street-level restaurants. People casually walked the sidewalks, others clearly enjoying an evening out. It was a welcome sight after a long drive from Florida’s east coast.

Pulling up to the valet initially signaled the familiar feeling I often get—hurry up and move on to the next task. But being greeted by a tall, efficient gentleman in a furry hat and long coat marked our arrival at Loews Hotel Atlanta. The valet was quick and orderly, and we were soon on our way to check-in.

The lobby immediately set the tone. A neutral color palette paired with elegant marble and warm wood made the space feel inviting. But this wasn’t a typical check-in experience. Instead of a transactional exchange, I was met with a genuine, engaging conversation—one that pulled me out of autopilot. I found myself smiling, no longer focused on the task at hand. Here, check-in wasn’t a chore.

On the way to the elevators, I noticed Ashland Bar—a social hub with thoughtfully arranged seating, including high-top tables, bar stools, and lounge areas. The dim lighting and illuminated tabletop menus gave it a classy, speakeasy-inspired vibe. It’s always a win when hotel social spaces don’t feel like hotel spaces.

Up to room 1701, the evening began. The first thing that caught my attention was the panoramic Midtown view through floor-to-ceiling windows. Plush bedding and elegant, neutral décor created a calm, elevated atmosphere. The room was clearly well-maintained—something that never goes unnoticed. A shower and soaking tub combo was a pleasant and welcome surprise.

After a restful night’s sleep, I woke around 8 am and headed to the gym on the 7th floor. Still half-asleep, I could hear music playing as I approached—and I instantly felt energized. Inside was a full, state-of-the-art gym with loud, motivating music that set the tone to lock in and train. I can’t say enough good things about the gym experience here.

The locker room featured lockers, standard hygiene amenities, spacious showers, and a steam room. While I didn’t use the facilities, everything appeared exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The vanity mirrors stood out—they were heated to prevent fogging and allowed lighting hue adjustments. Thoughtful, modern touches like these didn’t go unnoticed.

One thing I noticed while walking through the lobby that morning—I wasn’t in a hurry. I felt inclined to slow down and enjoy my coffee. The hotel’s signature fragrance, paired with its visually calm environment, didn’t push me forward. The staff presence felt balanced: attentive yet unintrusive, contributing to an overall sense of ease.

Overall, Loews Hotel Atlanta has earned a spot on my will-return list. Aside from a few minor scuffs along the lower walls in the room, which are small details that could easily be addressed, everything else was excellent.
