Curator’s statement
Saint Vincent is off the beaten path when compared to the other islands in the Caribbean. Going to Saint Vincent checked a number of boxes: my first time at a Sandals resort, being the 39th country that I’ve traveled to and lastly, my best friend and I chose this location for our annual trip. Her family is from Saint Vincent, and she hadn’t visited the island in nearly 30 years.

Hiking on Princess Margaret Trail
I highly recommend selecting a room in the Butler Elite category. A three-butler team is assigned to your room to ensure you have an amazing stay, and upon arrival you receive a phone to stay in contact with them. The butlers will handle your dinner reservations and reserve spots at the beach or pool each day based on your preference. The butler experience was amazing and our butlers were especially friendly and helped us secure transportation for our excursion.

Bequia
The highlight of the Butler Elite room category is the complimentary Boat Transfer via Catamaran to the resort — what an amazing welcome to Saint Vincent! The boat transfer is available when arriving and departing the resort. There is another opportunity to sail by joining the Butler Cruise in the evenings. The cruise was a mini-excursion, giving us the opportunity to pass by La Soufrière Volcano and Wallilabou Bay – Port Royal from the movie ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’.

La Soufrière
It was hard to convince ourselves to leave the resort but we wanted to explore more of the Grenadines and headed to Bequia. Our butlers arranged our transportation to Kings Town Ferry Terminal where we boarded the Bequia Express and in less than an hour we arrived. We hiked The Princess Margaret Trail before arriving at Jack’s Beach Bar. Taxis are available from the port for those that require a more accessible means of transportation. Jack’s Beach Bar was the perfect place to spend the day — the food and drinks were delicious and there were beach loungers available for rent.

Lobster Mac & Cheese @ Jack's Beach Bar
Back to Sandals — the resort was fantastic and the food was the best that I have ever had at a resort. There was a schedule of events including fitness classes, pool games and live music. Sandals Hotels are known to be geared towards couples but we didn’t think the activities were overly romantic and really enjoyed the musical acts.

Infinity Pool
Need to know
Bikes were available at various locations around the property for a quick and fun way to get around.
There are two coffee shops on site, but I preferred the one closer to the quiet pool.
Be sure to take advantage of the local cuisine available at the property.
