First impressions: White-glove service from arrival to departure
The moment our vehicle pulled up to the elegant Georgian façade of Flemings Mayfair, we were enveloped in a choreographed symphony of hospitality. Converted from 13 Georgian townhouses, this boutique gem immediately announces its pedigree through its distinguished architecture and prime Mayfair location. What struck us first, however, wasn't the building's historic grandeur—it was the small army of impeccably uniformed staff who seemed to materialize from nowhere, each with a singular mission: to make our arrival seamless.
More people than we could count swarmed our car with genuine enthusiasm, handling our luggage with the precision of a well-oiled machine while warmly greeting our three little ones. The coordination was nothing short of masterful. Thanks to our Fora Reserve partnership perks, our departure transfer was equally flawless, complete with perfectly sized car seats for each child—a thoughtful touch that speaks volumes about the hotel's attention to detail and commitment to family comfort.

Accommodations: Where Georgian elegance meets modern luxury
During our stay, we had the privilege of experiencing both a sumptuous suite and a beautifully appointed standard room, and I can confidently say that both were absolutely extraordinary. Each room is designed with an emphasis on comfort, luxury, and a touch of uniqueness.
The suite was a masterclass in sophisticated design—spacious yet intimate, with rich fabrics, carefully curated artwork, and those distinctive touches that make Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties so special. The standard room, far from being merely adequate, was equally pristine and thoughtfully appointed. Both spaces featured air conditioning, central heating, internet access, television, telephone, mini bar, safe, and tea and coffee making facilities, with bathrooms that felt like private spas, complete with luxurious amenities and larger, refillable bottles for soaps and shampoo as part of their sustainability commitment.
What truly set these accommodations apart wasn't just the beautiful furnishings or the impeccable housekeeping—it was the personalized touches that made us feel genuinely welcomed rather than merely accommodated.

Family-first hospitality: Redefining child-friendly luxury
Here's what sets Flemings Mayfair apart from every other luxury property we've experienced: their extraordinary approach to welcoming families. You wouldn't expect a sophisticated Small Luxury Hotels of the World property in the heart of Mayfair to cater so thoughtfully to young guests, but the staff absolutely amazed us with their genuine enthusiasm for making our children feel at home.
Upon arrival, we discovered a plate of VIP fudge in our room, accompanied by a handwritten note addressed to my husband and me—a lovely personal touch. But the real magic happened at turndown service: each of our three children found a sleeve of double-stuffed Oreos waiting on their pillow, complete with individual notes written just for them. The attention to detail continued the following morning at breakfast, where the staff presented our little ones with themed handouts featuring Spider-Man, Moana, and Paw Patrol characters. These weren't generic children's amenities—they were thoughtfully selected touches that showed the staff had actually observed and remembered our children's interests.

Manetta's Bar: An Art Deco sanctuary
The decidedly Art Deco Manetta's Bar below Flemings Mayfair offers a den of interwar opulence, smart-thinking drinks, and literary daydreams. This gorgeous and lavish yet intimate basement bar transported us to another era entirely. Post-WWII, this cozy, conspiratorial cocktail lounge was a favorite haunt of foreign spies and British intelligence agents, and served as the original hangout in the 1930s for famous artists and literati of the day.
The space itself is breathtaking—all rich mahogany, plush velvet, and gleaming brass fixtures that catch the warm, amber lighting perfectly. But what truly makes Manetta's special are the extremely talented mixologists who craft each cocktail with theatrical precision and genuine passion. The bartenders weren't just serving drinks; they were curating experiences, engaging us in friendly conversation that continued throughout the evening while creating cocktails that were as perfect as the sophisticated ambiance surrounding us.

Breakfast: A culinary revelation
Thanks to our Fora Reserve perks, we enjoyed complimentary breakfast credits, and I can honestly say this was some of the finest hotel dining we've ever experienced.
The staff's interaction with our children was incredibly kind and attentive—they remembered drink preferences, dietary restrictions, and even engaged the kids in gentle conversation that made breakfast feel like a family celebration rather than a hotel meal. The culinary execution was nothing short of extraordinary: I enjoyed what was genuinely the best pancake of my life, with a texture so perfect it seemed to melt on the tongue. The poached eggs were flawlessly executed, paired with silky smoked salmon and the most delightfully flavorful hollandaise sauce that enhanced rather than overwhelmed the dish.
Even the beverages exceeded expectations. The fresh juices tasted as if they had been squeezed moments before serving—bright, vibrant, and bursting with natural flavor. And the coffee? It was the kind of perfectly balanced, aromatic brew that makes you genuinely excited to wake up each morning.

The Michelin connection
While we didn't have the opportunity to dine at Ormer Mayfair, the fine-dining restaurant that was awarded its first Michelin star in 2024 and holds four AA Rosettes (three children and a Michelin-starred restaurant don't always mix!), knowing that such culinary excellence exists within the property speaks to the overall commitment to exceptional quality that permeates every aspect of the Flemings Mayfair experience.

Final thoughts: A new standard for family luxury
Flemings Mayfair has redefined our understanding of what luxury family travel can be. This isn't simply a beautiful hotel that tolerates children—it's a sophisticated property that genuinely celebrates families while maintaining the highest standards of elegance and service. The seamless blend of Georgian charm, modern amenities, personalized service, and authentic warmth creates an experience that feels both exclusive and welcoming.
From the moment we arrived until our flawlessly coordinated departure, every interaction reinforced our confidence in choosing this extraordinary property. For discerning families seeking a luxury London experience that doesn't compromise on sophistication or warmth, Flemings Mayfair isn't just recommended—it's essential.
Need to know
Shepard Market lies just a short stroll away, its cobbled lanes brimming with traditional British pubs and international eateries. During the evening hours, the market transforms into a vibrant social hub where business professionals spill out onto the pavement, pint glasses in hand, creating an animated tapestry of after-work conversation beneath the al fresco dining areas.
