Curator’s statement

The Park Hyatt Chicago truly sets the bar for refined luxury. This hotel got it right from service, ambiance, it-factor, and general standards. The mute decor and in-room minimalism really allows the mind to ease.

The definition of refined luxury, the Park Hyatt Chicago pairs a muted color palette with confidently bold service. Though smaller in scale, the public spaces feel intentionally intimate, enhanced by dim, ambient lighting that encourages guests to slow down. The service leans toward the impersonal side, yet remains top-notch in execution.

The restaurant brings a sense of excitement, complemented by stunning views of Lake Michigan. For a hotel restaurant, the food exceeds expectations, and the staff deserves special praise for their elegant, composed service style.

The corner rooms are a dream—featuring a window bench that invites you to get cozy and linger with the view. The bed is plush and indulgently soft, while the room lighting is, without question, the best I’ve experienced in a hotel. Thoughtfully layered ambient lighting, motion-activated foot lights, and intuitive digital controls work together to create a perfectly balanced, elevated atmosphere.

Need to know

Parking garages in the area seem to be heavily utilized and it may be difficult to find space. If possible, I recommend using the hotel’s valet service.

Tea service is available upon request in the bar. They utilize steeping pots with loose leaf tea. Cream and honey are served with the tea. 10/10.
