Hotel Highlight: Grand Hyatt Singapore
Curator’s statement

While Singapore is indeed a sprawling, modern city in Asia, it is home to a uniquely complex hotel market. Top brands you know and love don’t necessarily put their best foot forward here, while brands you tend to look over are the ones that actually shine. Here’s why the recently renovated Grand Hyatt Singapore is the perfect home base for your next visit to the lion city.

Where to stay

On my most recent trip to Singapore, I was challenged with finding a luxury option in this sprawling city, while keeping in line with the budget of my fellow travelers. While Singapore is known for iconic hotels like Marina Bay Sands and Raffles, other top tier properties can be found at a much more reasonable price. For a US-based traveler like myself, the Grand Hyatt brand is a staple chain. Here in the US, these Hyatts are known for their quality rooms and friendly service, but in Asia these properties really live up to the Grand in their name.

King Deluxe Room bathroom

The Grand Hyatt Singapore recently finished its multi-year renovation in August of 2025, where both the Grand and Terrace wings and many public spaces saw complete overhauls. Conveniently located on the heart of Orchard Road, the Grand Hyatt is steps from shopping, dining, and transit to easily get around the city. I checked in for three nights at a Hyatt Prive rate for a weekend stay and I don’t think you can find a better value for a luxurious oasis in this bustling city.

Let’s start with the rooms. As mentioned, both the Terrace and Grand wings have received major room renovations, each with a distinct aesthetic. Looking for earthier tones to balance out the modern city? Terrace wing is definitely for you. Or how about modern luxury with distinctly Asian details tied in? I’d definitely go with the Grand wing! Either way, you’ll rest your head in luxury.

Grand Hyatt Singapore Grand Club

Base-level rooms live in the terrace wing, located closer to the pool, fitness center, and spa, while deluxe rooms are located in the Grand Wing just off Orchard Road. Each wing is home to a variety of suites, all tied in to the aesthetic of their respective locations in the hotel. I booked a standard king room, and thanks to the Hyatt Prive program was upgraded to a beautiful deluxe king room with over 500 sq ft of space to spread out. If you’re looking to elevate your stay or have a club access award to burn, the newly renovated Grand Club is a worthwhile splurge for its daily breakfast, afternoon snacks, and evening cocktail hour with views of Orchard.

One of the Grand Hyatt’s strengths is its dining and amenities. A vacation isn’t right without a sprawling hotel breakfast, and Straits Kitchen takes it to the next level. The breakfast buffet was more expansive than many Four Seasons properties I’ve been to, and the quality and variety will ensure everyone is well-fed and ready to take on the day!

Hyatt Prive welcome

Other highlights include fine dining at Le Pristine, as well as the poolside fare at Oasis. Speaking of the pools, this city property has two that create the perfect escape from the busy streets just outside the hotel. One sprawling pool sits just below the Oasis bar, with plenty of space to swim laps or splash around, while another sits just off the Terrace wing with hydrotherapy features to ensure you can recover from a day around the city. If you’re looking for other wellness features, the renovated gym has brand new equipment and is just off the spa with a sauna and steam room.

Overall, this renovated staple along Orchard Road is a must-consider for your upcoming stay in Singapore. With stunning rooms, relaxing amenities, and a top tier location, you’ll be at the center of it all during your next visit to the Grand Hyatt Singapore.
