Things to do in Manhattan

Rockefeller Center
This one's a classic. No matter how many times you visit, seeing the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree never loses its magic. It’s an iconic holiday experience in NYC that always takes your breath away.
The Rockettes at Radio City
Another must-see holiday activity! There’s a reason everyone recommends seeing the Rockettes — it’s truly an amazing performance that brings a special “wow” factor to the season. No matter how many times you see it, their show at Radio City Music Hall is unforgettable.
City Winery
City Winery offers a lively atmosphere with wine-centered activities, from tastings to events like “Yappy Hour” (get 50% off your first glass of rose if you bring your dog with you!!!) With a full lineup of shows, including special events on New Year's Eve, it's a great alternative if you’d rather avoid the crowds in Times Square.
Chelsea Market
For a more low-key experience with a touch of holiday cheer, head to my favorite place — the Chelsea Market. Its seasonal decorations are stunning, and the food options are equally amazing. Try the Rotisserie Broken Chicken at Miznon or my favorite treat, the raspberry halva from Seed + Mill.
Wollman Rink
You can’t go wrong with ice skating at Wollman Rink, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking skyline views of Manhattan right in the heart of Central Park. Warm up with a drink inside a heated igloo for a cozy holiday experience.
Bryant Park Winter Village
Bryant Park is one of my favorite places year-round, but the Winter Village makes it even more magical. During the holiday season, the park features a free ice skating rink, heated igloos for dining (make sure to reserve in advance!), and an incredible variety of food vendors.
Stroll Around the City
NYC is brimming with festive decorations, holiday-themed restaurants and pop-up events throughout the season. Just wandering around the city can lead you to exciting holiday surprises. Anything is possible in New York!
Christmas Holiday Statue and Skyline Cocoa Cruise
If you haven’t yet seen the Statue of Liberty, why not make it extra special by going during the holidays? The Christmas Holiday Statue and Skyline Cocoa Cruise offers a unique way to view Lady Liberty and Ellis Island from the water. Even if you've seen her countless times, the up-close view from the cruise adds a magical touch.
Places to eat & drink in Manhattan

Rolf’s
I haven’t managed to get a reservation at Rolf’s yet, but even seeing the decor from outside is magical! They only accept reservations by phone (and, in my experience, they rarely answer). Many reviews mention that the food isn’t the highlight, so I’d recommend stopping by just for a drink at the bar and to soak up the holiday ambiance.
Magic Hour
I loved their boozy pink hot chocolate — perfect for a cozy night out. Magic Hour’s rooftop menu changes with the seasons, along with their festive decor. I recommend making a reservation as tables fill up fast.
Frosty’s Christmas Bar
This spot is less for a quiet drink and more for a lively, energetic crowd and over-the-top holiday decorations. If you're looking to amp up the festive spirit with a lively atmosphere, Frosty’s is a great choice!
Serra by Birreria
Serra by Birreria, a rooftop Italian restaurant, transforms its decor with each season, bringing a fresh and festive atmosphere. Located in Eataly, it’s also ideal if you want to stock up on premium ingredients like truffles and pasta after dining.
Ophelia
For stunning NYC views, Ophelia is a year-round gem, and in my opinion, sunset is the ideal time to visit. The hanging snowflake decor adds an extra holiday touch. They also host a New Year’s Eve celebration if you’re looking for a special spot to ring in the New Year.
Funny Face Bakery
With locations in NoHo and Seaport, Funny Face Bakery offers some of the cutest, most Instagram-worthy holiday cookies. Perfect for a festive treat, their selection includes gluten-free and vegan options, so everyone can enjoy!
Lavaux Wine Bar
Lavaux Wine Bar is a cozy, Swiss-inspired gem that’s perfect for a relaxing night with wine and fondue. In addition to regular seating, they offer a “Book the Chalet” experience for larger groups, complete with unlimited wine and a charming, vintage gondola. With a “secret message party” to spark conversations, this bar feels like a little slice of Switzerland.
Starbucks Reserve
Starbucks Reserve is hosting a winter wonderland pop-up that offers access to a new and exclusive drink. Their food options are unique and delicious — like the Eggs in Purgatory breakfast I tried a couple of years ago! The Reserve is a perfect stop for an upscale coffee experience this holiday season.
