Day 1: Arrival, Conch Shack & first night out

Courtyard of SUI-REN
Arrival & getting around
Make sure to grab a window seat on arrival—this is one of the most beautiful landings you’ll see. Be prepared for an outdoor gate and a covered walkway into a small arrivals terminal.
If arriving Thursday through Sunday, plan ahead with Fast Track TCI to expedite passport control and customs. You’ll still need to wait for your luggage, but the overall process moves faster so you can get on with the rest of the trip.
For getting around, you have a few good options. Grace Bay Car Rentals offers airport pickup and drop-off without the need for a shuttle. If you prefer something a bit sportier, Turks Jeep offers both airport and resort pickup options. If you’d rather not drive, pre-arranging a transfer with LIV VIP is a seamless option.
On arrival, ask your driver to stop at Da Conch Shack for lunch. It’s an island staple and an easy first stop after the flight. The seating is colorful picnic tables set right in the sand, so you immediately feel like you’ve arrived. While you’re there, order the crack conch or conch fritters and a local Turks Head beer.
Next, head to your resort for check-in, then plan to spend some time on Grace Bay Beach for sunset or a quick walk. It’s one of the simplest but most memorable parts of the trip.
Evening
For dinner, book SUI-REN at The Shore Club. If you are staying at The Palms Turks and Caicos, you can take the complimentary shuttle to the sister property. Plan to arrive a little early and take some time around the property. The Shore Club has several photogenic spots that are worth seeing before dinner.
On Fridays, an earlier reservation allows you to catch happy hour, which includes deals on rolls, appetizers, and drinks at the mercury glass and greenery-filled bar. The spicy tuna roll and any of the fish dishes are standouts, and it’s worth saving room for dessert.
Day 2: Boat day & dinner out

Crystal blue water everywhere
Morning
Start the morning at your resort or head into town. Grace Bay is easy to navigate on foot or by bike, which makes getting around simple.
For breakfast, Shay’s Cafe & Lounge is a great sit-down option. Try the breakfast sandwich or chocolate chip pancakes. For something lighter, Turks Berry offers acai bowls and smoothies. I love the Dragon Cay, although these can be a bit pricey, so I usually only go once per trip. It’s also a nice break for the air conditioning and the tropical, preppy interior.
For coffee, Beans & Leaves or Lemon 2 Go are both reliable and serve excellent vanilla lattes.
Afternoon
Midday, plan ahead and book a half-day snorkel tour. It’s one of the best ways to experience the water here. You’ll spend time on the reef (the third largest in the world), stop at Iguana Island to see the rock iguanas, and visit beaches that have been featured in Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue. It’s also a great opportunity for photos along the way. If possible, include a stop at Noah’s Ark, a floating bar that’s become a popular stop for both tourists and celebrities. I even found myself on the swings and trampoline on a recent visit.
If your group prefers something more active, book a kayak tour. These tours take you through the mangroves, where you may see sea turtles, small sharks, and other marine life, along with a stop at Iguana Island. Tours are tide-dependent, so it’s worth planning in advance and selecting a time that works best for your group.
For lunch, keep it casual. Tribe is known for its sandwiches (the bread really stands out), salads, and carrot cake. The curry chicken or BLT are both worth ordering. Turks Kebab is another easy option—go for the Greek salad with gyro and try the ginger lemonade.
Evening
Dinner that night, plan for Bay Bistro. Reservations in advance can secure a table in the sand at sunset. If you’re in the mood for something more lush and elevated, Coco Bistro is another option. Reservations here are harder to get and typically need to be secured 6–8 weeks in advance. Both restaurants focus on fresh seafood along with more classic dishes.
At Bay Bistro, I love the snapper or lobster (when it’s in season). At Coco Bistro, the crusted tuna steak stands out. I’d also recommend bringing bug spray for either—nothing worse than ending the night with mosquito bites as souvenirs.
Day 3: Spa, beach & sunset cruise

Sunset views from Lady Grace
Morning
Start the morning at your resort and ease into the day. Plan a morning of treatments at the spa at The Palms Turks and Caicos. A facial and 60-minute massage here are among the best on the island. The spa is full-service, with locker rooms, showers, a steam room, and dry sauna, and you’ll walk away feeling completely reset.
Afternoon
The rest of the afternoon is for the beach. Set up early and keep the day open—Grace Bay is best enjoyed without much of a plan. Most resorts offer beachside food and drink service, which makes it easy to settle in for a few hours. A jerk chicken wrap, fries, and an ice-cold Diet Coke is my go-to while catching up on a beach read.
Evening
Book a sunset cruise on Lady Grace departing from The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos. The cruise includes heavy appetizers and an open bar, so it can easily take the place of dinner. It’s one of those experiences that’s consistently worth it and something I try to do every time I’m on the island.
I like to sit toward the back on the way out for the views, then grab a spot in one of the net hammocks for the ride back—you’ll get incredible sunset views over Grace Bay.
Afterward, if you’re still up for it, you can stop into the casino at the Ritz. If you’re still hungry, Bella Luna Restaurant is a great late-night option—the pizza and vegetarian pita are standouts. Or keep it simple with froyo from Turks Berry.
Day 4: One last morning & departure

Omar's Beach Hut setting
Take the morning at your own pace with a final walk on the beach and a relaxed breakfast.
If you have a later flight (around 2:30 p.m. or later), consider stopping at Omar’s Beach Hut for lunch before heading to the airport. It’s close by and easy to fit in. The jerk wraps—chicken, shrimp, fish, or lobster (depending on season)—are all great options. Omar is often there himself and makes a point to stop by and thank guests, which adds a really nice personal touch.
Departure tips
Weekends at the airport can be busy. After check-in, you’ll move through security, which can extend outside, before entering a small terminal that services all departing international flights. The best seating is upstairs in the newer section.
For a more comfortable experience, consider booking expedited departure service with VIP Flyers Club. This includes access to a reserved lounge area with comfortable seating, light snacks, drinks, and reliable Wi-Fi. It’s not a full airline lounge, but it makes a noticeable difference.
Need to know
Turks and Caicos is very easy for U.S. travelers. The islands use U.S. dollars and operate on Eastern Time, so there’s no need to adjust much once you arrive.
Driving is on the left side of the road, which can take a minute to get used to, but most vehicles are similar to what you’re used to in the U.S.. If you plan to rent a car, it’s manageable, just take it slow at first.
It’s also worth noting that Turks and Caicos can be expensive, especially when it comes to dining and activities, so it’s best to plan accordingly.
Pack reef-safe sunscreen to help protect the marine environment, especially if you plan to snorkel or spend extended time in the water.
Overall, it’s a very safe destination, particularly around Grace Bay, which makes it an easy choice for a relaxed girls weekend.
