Visiting the iconic cities of Dublin, Edinburgh, and London should be on everyone’s bucket list. With such close proximity to one another, it is easy to sample all three in two weeks. Add in some day trips outside the city to get the perfect taste of Ireland, Scotland, and England. It’s impossible to visit and not feel as though you’ve been transported back in time; however, each of these cities remains modern and vibrant with first-class amenities and a focus on the future.

London

Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and Buckingham Palace Tour: Skip the line and learn about historic events right where they happened. This is an efficient way to see three of London’s top attractions.
Musical theater in the West End: You can’t go wrong with musical theater in London!
Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park: Visit Princess Diana’s Memorial Fountain and the Serpentine Galleries.
St. Paul’s Cathedral: A national treasure with its world-famous dome. Walk in the footsteps of royalty and political leaders and visit the Crypt where heroes are buried.
Day trip to Stonehenge and Bath: Full-day trip to Stonehenge and Bath, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Day trip to Windsor and Windsor Castle: Visit the beautiful town of Windsor and tour the famous Windsor Castle. Wander around town. Take a scenic boat ride on the river Thames.

Dublin
The Church: Restaurant and bar in a 300-year-old church with live traditional Irish music and dancing. Excellent food, cocktails, and ambiance.
The Bank on College Green: Housed in a former Royal Bank of Ireland Victorian building. Beautiful restaurant with excellent food and live piano music.
The Winding Stair: Up a winding staircase and overlooking the River Liffey and the Ha-Penny Bridge, this restaurant. Elevated old-fashion home cooking. Don’t miss the “Adult Affogato” for dessert!
Edinburgh
Angels with Bagpipes: Classy restaurant on the Royal Mile serving creative small plates with seafood and Scottish ingredients. Excellent service and cozy atmosphere. Favorites include the Scottish crab and crumpet, and the smoked salmon with creme fraiche.
Howies Victoria: Located on one of the most photographed streets in Edinburgh, Howies serves fresh, seasonal Scottish food, wine, and whisky. Check out the whisky flights.
The Piper’s Rest: In the Old Town, serves fresh, local produce and traditional Scottish dishes with a full bar and live music nightly. The famous meat pie is a favorite.
London
The Park Restaurant: Beautiful and bright restaurant right next to Hyde Park with floor-to-ceiling views. Serves an excellent Eggs Benedict for brunch.
EVE X Proper Slice: Located in the Ember Locke Kensington Hotel, this restaurant has a classy ambiance and serves the best New York–style pizza this side of the pond.
Addie’s Thai Restaurant: Located in Earl’s Court, this understated restaurant serves fresh Thai classics at reasonable prices. Friendly and comfortable.
Windsor: worth a mention
A La Russe: Serves modern French and world cuisine just 200 meters from Windsor Castle. Every dish is prepared with attention to quality and presentation. The goat cheese salad is the perfect starter, and the meat dishes are divine.

Currency: Dublin, Ireland uses Euros; Edinburgh and London use pounds.
Transportation: Purchase the Oyster Visitor Card for savings on the Tube, Trains, and Ferry in London
Live music: Dublin - The Church and Merchant’s Arch in Temple Bar.
Edinburgh’s Royal Mile: Whisky Bar and the The Piper’s Rest.
US citizens traveling to the UK for short visits need to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA).
