Cabo San Lucas is known for its beaches, water-based activities and nightlife.
Curator’s statement

Cabo San Lucas is a quick flight from Southern California with daily direct flights from Tijuana via CBX, San Diego, LA and John Wayne. It makes for a quick getaway with flights just under 2 1/2 hours. Seven days is the perfect amount of time to sit back and relax, eat great food, enjoy a margarita or two, take to the ocean and just unwind under the sun. On this trip, we split our time between two resorts. Casa Dorada Resort & Spa on Medano Beach and the Waldorf Astoria Pedregal siding on Pacific Ocean. Both so, so different. Depending on your budget for your 7-day trip to Cabo, I would recommend either.

Things to do in Cabo

Looking at the view of the sea in Cabo.

There is no shortage of things to do in Cabo. You really have three options that I like to categorize as: 1. See and do everything you can in seven days. 2. Lay by the pool or on the beach the entire trip. Or 3. A combination of 1 and 2.

You can alternate your days starting with getting acclimated and unwinding days, your travel day. The next day, roam along the marina and shop at local artisan boutiques while dropping in for an ice-cold margarita and lunch.

The following day take to the sea. With no shortage of chartered private and group boat tours, you can spend a good part of a day on the water and take in the shoreline. It's an ideal way to take geography from a different perspective and experience the difference between the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean waters.

By alternating your days with rest and relaxation followed by a new adventure you'll feel like it's a true vacation and adventure schedule that truly can take the fun out of what is supposed to be, a vacation.

Places to eat & drink in Cabo

Crazy Lobster Bar & Grill is long known as one of the top local stops for cheap seafood.

Let me start by saying, I love finding restaurants that I can recommend for multiple reasons. Nothing rubs me wrong faster than feeling gauged when on vacation. These recommendations are based on good food, good service and fair pricing.

Breakfast: I like eating right at our resort. The choices are plentiful and typically included with your stay!

Lunch: If you are spending the day at the pool or beach why not indulge in Chips & Guacamole, Carne Asada Tacos, Shrimp Tacos and my favorite, Ceviche.

If you are out for the day walking the streets of Cabo, lying on Medano Beach or cruising along the Marina, a few places I would recommend for lunch:

Dinner:

  • Salvatore G's was absolutely delicious Italian (make a reservation on their website.)

  • The Crazy Lobster was super casual and satisfied my lobster craving. In fact, we ate here twice!

  • La Lupita Taco &Mezcal is super casual and has live music.

  • Edith's is nestled on a side street leading to Medano beach. Make a reservation for this traditional Mexican restaurant.
