Things to do in Traverse City

Sara Hardy Farmers Market—colorful produce in the kitchen
Wineries: Sip frosé or Sauvignon Blanc and eat meet and cheese overlooking the stunning rolling vineyards at any of the various wineries like Brys Estate Vineyard & Winery, Mari, or Bonobo to name just a few. Check out the beautiful purple secret lavender garden at Brys Estate.
Boating: Take a boat ride on the plethora of lakes in the area like Lake Michigan’s West Bay, Torch Lake, or Long Lake on a hot sunny day with a cold one in hand as the wind blows through your hair.
Have a beach day: Go to Haserot Beach, located at the end of the Old Mission Peninsula, and visit the General Store.
Set sail: Relax on the Nauti Cat sunset cruise, listening to island beats among girl friends and strangers.
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore: Take a thirty-minute drive and marvel at high sand dunes, hike scenic trails, or drive the picturesque Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive for staggering views.
Sara Hardy Farmers Market: Stroll through the market to get fresh produce and a Nine Bean Rows croissant by the river.
Take a bike ride: Rent a bike from Brick Wheels and take a bike ride along the Tart Trail or around the Boardman Lake Trail.
Shopping: Take a stroll down Front Street and find local boutiques and coffee shops to wonder into.
Music & drinks: Listen to live music over a craft cocktail at North Bar, Lake Ann Brewery, or Little Fleet food trucks.
Go to a concert: During the national Cherry Festival in July, a handful of artists play. I have seen Jordan Davis and Nelly there is the past.
Ice cream stop: Head to Moomers for the most delicious ice cream and watch the cows graze as you sit on the porch.
Places to eat & drink in Traverse City

Firefly dinner favorites
Red Ginger: Asian fusion option with great service and a mouth-watering meal that will not disappoint.
PepeNero: Elevated Italian spot with a fantastic expresso martini and tiramisu for desert.
Boathouse Restaurant: Overlooks gorgeous West Bay and has incredible French and seafood influences.
Mama Lus: A casual modern-day taco shop with delicious margaritas and creative tacos.
Firefly: My go-to casual American restaurant with wonderful cocktails, small plates, and sushi.
Nittolo's Little Italy: Mouth-watering Italian food with a great happy hour.
Farm Club: Farm-to-table food in a outdoorsy chic setting.
The Towne Plaza: My favorite local breakfast joint that has the best chicken eggs benedict, pancakes, and mimosas in town.
Need to know
Traverse City is an incredibly walkable city. If you know you need rides, I would make sure to have cars booked beforehand if possible as it is not a huge city with a plethora of Ubers.
The National Cherry Festival goes on for a week starting the last weekend in July. Expect more crowds and a higher restaurant wait time if you are planning to visit during this time.
Book early when it comes to hotels, as hotel rooms book up and prices rise in the summer.
