Curator’s statement
Growing up in Arizona, I have watched Scottsdale evolve into the popular travel destination it currently is. With tons of restaurants, events, cafes, and bars, I have done my own research to find which places and experiences are worth your time and money. Arizona offers so much more than cacti and dry heat!

Things to do in Scottsdale

Light Heart Coffee
Shop
Scottsdale offers two large malls: the Scottsdale Mall in Old Town Scottsdale and Kierland in North Scottsdale. Outside of the malls, there are tons of different shops throughout the city if you still haven’t found what you’re looking for.
Dine
New concepts and cafes are always emerging in Scottsdale. Cuisines from around the globe can be found in this city, along with curated coffee, vibrant matchas, and creative cocktails.
Music
Despite its heat, Scottsdale is a common music tour stop for artists. Talking Stick Resort in North Scottsdale offers an indoor venue. Wasted Grain in Old Town Scottsdale offers a more intimate live music experience, and just west at AK Chin Pavilion, you can enjoy an outdoor arena.
Sports
Home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Phoenix Suns, Arizona Cardinals, Phoenix Rising FC, and Arizona State, there is always a competition to keep you entertained.
Farmers market
Old Town Scottsdale hosts a weekly farmers market every Saturday: October 4th - April 25th: 8 a.m.–1 p.m. May: 8–12 p.m. June: 7–10 a.m. Closed for Summer.
Golf
Known for hosting the Waste Management tournament every year, Scottsdale offers lots of golf courses! South Scottsdale has courses like the Phoenician Golf Club, the Short Course at Mountain Shadows, and the Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club. North Scottsdale offers the Gainey Ranch Gold Club, The Westin Kierland Golf Club, TPC Scottsdale, and Grayhawk Golf Club.
Hike
For those looking to spend time outdoors, Scottsdale has many trails for all levels. Camelback Mountain offers a steep climb with a beautiful overview of the city at the top. Other popular ones include Gateway Trailhead, Tom’s Thumb, and Pinnacle Peak Park.
Places to eat & drink in Scottsdale

Light Heart Coffee: Amazing service and even better drinks. This is a must-try if you need a caffeine boost!
FourtilFour: A cafe in Old Town Scottsdale that always draws a line, but for good reason. They host car shows every weekend, and their coffee is consistently good.
Kaleidoscope: A juice and smoothie bar that gives Erewhon tough competition. Various locations throughout Scottsdale and a refreshing pick-me-up when it heats up.
Il Bracco: One of the newest additions to the restaurant scene in Scottsdale. This place serves up incredible Italian food and is perfect for a special celebration, date night, or girls’ dinner.
The Mission: A staple in Old Town Scottsdale and up at Kierland, this restaurant has been around for years and has gained recognition for its upscale Latin cuisine. Be sure to order the tableside guacamole!
Fox Concepts: I can’t choose just one because they are all so good. Sam Fox has created a culinary empire across the state and has numerous restaurants in Scottsdale that are all worth dining at! There is a mix of fine dining and casual for whatever you desire.
AJ’s Fine Foods: A Scottsdale classic. Stop in for a large iced tea and maybe snag a pastry or a fresh sushi roll from the counter. Any local in Arizona knows about AJ's.
JL Patisserie: A French baker moved to Arizona and has opened up this pastry shop serving the flakiest croissants, decadent desserts, and savory breakfasts. Stop in to be transported to a cafe in Paris.
Elephante: Although not native to Arizona, this California-based concept has gained approval from Arizonans. Go for the vodka pasta and whipped eggplant, and stay for the speakeasy to end the night with a cocktail and dancing.
