Curator’s statement
Franklin has been gaining attraction lately, and for good reason. Just outside of Nashville, it offers rolling hills, quaint coffee shops, and a small-town community while still being close to major shopping centers just a short drive away. Both times I have visited, I have left feeling rejuvenated! Whether you’re looking for a quick getaway or an extended visit, Franklin has lots to offer and provides the nervous system reset we all need once in a while.

Things to do in Franklin

The Factory
A historic factory that has since been renovated to be a marketplace for lots of great restaurants and local shops. Open 7 a.m. til 10 p.m. every day, it is a great place to grab a bite to eat, work remotely, find a handmade good, or experience one of their pop-up events. They host everything from line dancing and magic shows to live music.
Downtown Franklin
The heart of Franklin and home to many shops, restaurants, and cafés! Grab a coffee from Frothy Monkey or Perenn and pop into places like White’s Mercantile (lifestyle goods), The Heirloom Shop (gift shop), Saint Goose (wine connoisseurs), Landmark Booksellers (vintage books), and Winchester Antique Mall (unique finds).
True South Farm
If looking for a relaxing afternoon, a short drive south will take you to this expansive property that has 20 highland cows, goats, chickens, and occasionally, Bernese Mountain dog puppies!
Golf
Franklin Bridge Golf Club is an 18-hole public golf course with views of the rolling hills. If just looking for some practice, they also offer a driving range and putting greens.
Live music
If looking for the feel of Nashville, check out places like The Pond (laid-back vibe for casual drinks and music), Mockingbird Theater and Bar (smaller venue for better sound), or Kimbro's Pickin Parlor (based in a historic house and offers songwriter rounds and acoustic sets), all known for their live music venues!
Leiper's Fork
If still wanting to venture out, west of Franklin is a tiny town with country charm. Be sure to check out Patina Home for a well-curated general store (and venture to the back for their grocery items and homemade goodies!). There are also three galleries in town (David Arms, Leiper's Creak, and The Copper Fox) if you are interested in stopping in.

Need to know
If you have your own car or can rent one, driving through the back roads is the best way to explore! You may just stumble upon a farm stand or beautiful horses grazing.
Avoid driving on main streets from 8–9 a.m. and 4–6 p.m., as traffic can get hectic on weekdays.
