Day 1: Arrival & travel to Rio Perdido

Arriving in Costa Rica, you're greeted by the vibrant energy and lush landscapes that define this tropical paradise. From the moment you touch down, the air is filled with anticipation of adventure. Leaving the airport, you head to your first destination, Rio Perdido, nestled in the heart of Guanacaste's pristine wilderness. As you drive deeper into the jungle, it feels like you're embarking on a journey into a hidden oasis. As you wind through the scenic countryside, you realize you are about to discover a secluded retreat where luxury meets nature. Upon arrival, the warm smiles of the staff and the tranquil ambiance welcome you, setting the stage for an unforgettable stay immersed in the natural beauty of Costa Rica.
Day 2: Relaxation & nature at Rio Perdido

A day at Rio Perdido Hotel is the perfect combination of relaxation, adventure and connection with nature. You start your morning with a rejuvenating yoga session, surrounded by the sounds of the jungle and the refreshing breeze. After a healthy breakfast — included in your stay as part of your Fora perks — featuring locally sourced ingredients, you can embark on a canopy tour, cruising through the treetops on zip lines and admiring the breathtaking views of the unique landscapes.
As the sun reaches its hottest, you can take some time to cool off with a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters of the Rio Perdido thermal river, letting the mineral-rich waters soothe your body and mind. For lunch, you can grab a delicious meal at the hotel's open-air restaurant, enjoying fresh dishes inspired by Costa Rican cuisine.
In the afternoon, you can explore the surrounding trails on a guided hike, marveling at the plants and wildlife that call this pristine wilderness home. As the day comes to an end, this is the perfect time to unwind with a relaxing massage at the hotel's spa where you continue to enjoy time outside.
You can finish your day around a bonfire under the starlit sky, sharing a glass of wine with friends or a significant other until its time to retire to your luxurious accommodations, falling asleep to the gentle symphony of the jungle.
Day 3: Travel to Nantipa

We get ready to explore another part of Costa Rica on day 3 of this couples' escape, after a full day and a half in the tranquil haven of Rio Perdido, feeling rejuvenated and invigorated by time spent in nature. After a leisurely breakfast overlooking the beauty of the jungle, I'd hit the road and head south towards Nantipa and the beaches of Santa Teresa.
As you head out of the jungle and towards Nantipa, you can take in the changing landscapes, from the lush greens of Guanacaste to the breathtaking coastal vistas of the Pacific Ocean. Along the way, be sure to make stops to explore the little towns, sample local food and maybe even enjoy some roadside fruit stands for a taste of Costa Rica's fresh tropical treats.
Once you get to Nantipa, the warmth of the sun-kissed shores and the gentle rhythm of the ocean waves will wash over you. Welcome to the beach part of this journey! Check into a beachfront bungalow and take in the stunning views of the deep blue Pacific Ocean stretching out before you.
Day 4: Beach day at Nantipa

Once arriving at Nantipa, it is time to flip the switch and enter beach mode. Start your day with a rejuvenating yoga session on the pristine sands of Santa Teresa Beach. Known for being some of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica, you will not be disappointed. If you are feeling more adventurous, you could sign up for a private surfing lesson that is curated for you personally by the hotel based on experience level. Santa Teresa is renowned for its excellent surfing conditions, so why not take advantage of this opportunity? After the time in the surf, you will be ready for some downtime lounging at the beach. Sink your toes into the soft sand, bask in the warm tropical sun and take refreshing dips in the ocean whenever you please.
After your afternoon siesta you will want to find a secluded spot on the beach to witness the breathtaking sunset. Watch as the sky transforms into a canvas of vibrant colors and enjoy one of the Pacific Ocean's most beautiful sunsets. Be sure to make a reservation for a romantic dinner at Nantipa's oceanfront restaurant, Manzu, where you can enjoy a delicious meal under the stars while listening to the waves crashing nearby.
Day 5: Head home (or extend your trip)!

If you happen to have the luxury of extending this trip for more days in the jungle and at the beach, you will have no trouble filling your time. Costa Rica is known for its lush rainforests teeming with biodiversity. Explore iconic national parks like Manuel Antonio, Corcovado and Tortuguero to encounter wildlife such as monkeys, sloths, toucans and colorful frogs. Plan a zip-line adventure through the rainforest canopy. Costa Rica is famous for its canopy tours, offering experiences for all levels and breathtaking views from above. Costa Rica is home to countless waterfalls tucked away in the jungle. Hike to reach hidden gems like Llano de Cortés Waterfall for a refreshing dip in crystal-clear waters. Costa Rica offers endless guided nature walks, boat tours or birdwatching excursions to spot a wide range of animals in their natural habitats.
