Curator’s statement
Paris holds a special place in my heart—not just for its iconic beauty, but also for the memories I made there with my children. We visited in November, during the off-season, which allowed us to explore the city without the crowds and experience a quieter, more intimate side of Paris. Traveling with our au pair made the journey smoother and more enjoyable, giving us the freedom to soak up the charm, culture, and magic of the city together. It was a trip filled with simple joys, sweet moments, and the kind of wonder that only Paris can inspire. While we stayed at Hotel de Berri because of the proximity to shopping, Le Bristol was a close second with its kids' club and partnership with Bonpoint.

Things to do in Paris

The Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower is a must-see for any trip to Paris. My son especially loved watching it sparkle at night—truly magical. If you want to go beyond the second floor to the very top, be sure to purchase your elevator tickets well in advance, typically 60 days, as those time slots fill up quickly. I also recommend the elevator even to the second floor, especially with littles. My kids were 7 and 9 and did not enjoy walking the stairs. If you go during a nice day, you can bring a picnic and sit on the lawn, enjoying the views from below.
Disneyland Paris
Just a quick trip from the city, Disneyland Paris offers the perfect dose of Disney magic. You can visit both parks in one day if you plan smart—making it ideal for families looking for a fun escape without committing multiple days.
The Louvre
This world-famous museum is even more exciting with kids than you’d expect. We were in awe of the incredible statues and, of course, the Mona Lisa. My daughter’s favorite room? The one filled with crown jewels and glittering treasures—it felt like stepping into a fairy tale.
Musee d’Orsay
Perfect for introducing kids to Impressionist art is Musee d’Orsay—plus, it’s housed in a former train station, which adds to the fun. The colorful works of Monet, van Gogh, and Degas are accessible and captivating even for younger visitors.
Dinner cruise
One of our favorite evenings was spent dining aboard a Bateaux Parisiens dinner cruise on the Seine. Floating past the city’s most iconic sights while enjoying a delicious meal made for a peaceful and breathtaking experience—for both adults and kids.
Shopping
Strolling along the Champs-Élysées is a treat, whether you’re window-shopping at flagship stores or stopping for macarons at Ladurée. It’s a great blend of culture, fashion, and fun—plus, it’s near the Arc de Triomphe for a perfect photo op!
Places to eat & drink in Paris

Le Carpaccio
Tucked away on Rue de Berri, just steps from our hotel, this cozy Italian spot became one of our favorite meals in Paris. The homemade pasta was out of this world—better than anything we’ve had in Italy—and the quiet charm of the restaurant made it ideal for a relaxed, elevated family dinner. The staff were warm and welcoming, and it felt like a hidden gem amidst the buzz of the Champs-Élysées.
Maison Lucie
We made a morning ritual of visiting the small bakery right across from Hôtel de Berri. Fresh croissants, buttery pain au chocolat, and warm baguettes—everything was perfection. It became our cozy go-to for starting the day Parisian-style.
Pierre Hermé
If you’re in search of the perfect macaron, look no further than Pierre Hermé at 86 Champs. The flavors are unexpected and luxurious (like rose, passionfruit, and pistachio), and the presentation is pure Parisian art. Grab a box to enjoy during sightseeing or as a sweet souvenir.
Café de Flore
A legendary Paris café that’s surprisingly kid-welcoming, especially for a quick lunch or an afternoon treat. Great people-watching and a fun place to feel the vibe of old-school Paris.
Need to know
Traveling to Paris with kids can be as magical as it is memorable—especially with a little planning and a few elevated touches. One of our best decisions was hiring a private driver for destinations beyond the Champs-Élysées. It made getting around the city effortless and allowed us to skip the stress of unfamiliar transit with tired little legs in tow. Back at the hotel, some of our sweetest moments were the simplest: my kids sipping fancy mocktails in the lobby like VIPs, feeling every bit as special as the trip itself. From iconic sights to hidden gems, Paris offered us luxury, connection, and plenty of sparkle.
