Things to do in Singapore & Bali

Batuan Temple

Singapore

  • The Botanical Garden — Have a peaceful afternoon viewing some of the most beautiful and exotic flowers you will ever see! They have multiple greenhouses and stunning walkways. The entry fee is extremely affordable.

  • Chinatown — Visit the Buddha tooth relic temple, stroll among the colorful streets. Little India- Visit the Sultan's mosque and the amazing murals throughout this part of town. Great shopping for saares and other beautiful traditional Indian clothing.

  • Last but not least, you have to see a show at the Garden by the Bay! They run every single night. The lights and music are a sight to see and cannot be missed! Great experience for all ages.

Ubud, Bali

Head to the Kintamani region to hike your way up Mount Batur. This tour starts very early. Pickup is around 230 am. This iconic, extremely-active volcano draws many visitors from around the world with its beauty and promise of adventure.

From the top, experience a scenic sunrise view and the green caldera around the volcano. Witness a thick blanket of darkness being replaced by glistening orange and gold rays, bursting from the silhouette of Mount Agung with the glassy, untouched sheen of Lake Batur.

As your descent begins, explore three younger craters while taking in the amazing volcanic landscape. Have an option to visit a coffee plantation site to enjoy a delicious cup of local Luwak coffee before heading back to your hotel.

Day two: Book a private tour of Ubud!

  • Tegenungan Waterfall — This area is on the south side of Ubud and a really nice place to enjoy your cup of tea and see the wonderful waterfall. You can get close to it and feel the fresh spray of the natural water.

  • Batuan Temple — An 11th-century Hindu temple near Ubud, showcases intricate Balinese architecture and sacred shrines. An active worship site, it offers a glimpse into Bali’s rich spiritual and artistic heritage.

  • Mas Village — This is a village specializing in woodcarvings. Most of the prominent woodcarvers of Bali live in Mas village, producing elaborate and fine wood carvings and teaching the younger generation to carve.

  • Ubud Monkey Forest — The home of more than 600 long-tailed macaques, Ubud Monkey Forest is a tropical green forest close to the center of Ubud. Inside the forest, you can see a sacred temple sanctuary guarded by the monkeys.

  • Ubud Traditional Market — Here, a Ubud community gathers in the market to sell all of the produce from around the area: cheap souvenirs, crafts, fruit and more.

  • Ubud King Palace — In the center of Ubud, you will see the palace from the road. Entering the area, you can walk around to take pictures of the traditional Balinese architecture complex and see daily traditional Balinese dance.

  • Tegalalang Rice Terrace — Here you can see a typical scene in Bali: a rice terrace positioned in a beautiful rice field with green coconut plants. This makes it the best sight of the Balinese countryside.

  • Uluwatu, Bali — Enjoy the beautiful beaches of Padang Padang Beach! Opt for a surfing lesson. You can easily book these on the beach or with your hotel.

  • Book a luxury spa treatment after a long day at the beach! I highly recommend the traditional Balinese massage for total relaxation.

Places to eat & drink in Singapore & Bali

The wonders of Satay Street!

Singapore

Ce La Vie — This is the best place in Singapore to have a classic Singapore sling with a great view of the city. It is in the Marina Bay Sands.

Satay Street — One of the most famous street foods in all of Singapore! Order a combo plate of beef, chicken and prawns, with their delicious dipping sauce and you will not forget it. Fun fact: they also filmed Crazy Rich Asians on Satay Street!

HOLYCRAB — Still to this day, one of my favorite meals I have ever had in my life. Their sweet and spicy chili crab is served with bao buns. They have several different levels of heat, but I recommend going with the traditional one. They give you plastic gloves and a bib, which is 100% needed but the mess is 100% worth it!

Origin Bar — Located inside theShangri-Laa Hotel — this bar has the most creative list of cocktails I have ever seen! The drinks we ordered seem to come with some type of prop. My champagne cocktail came with an edible chocolate lipstick, and my husband's cocktail came with an edible lightsaber (his cocktail was Star Wars themed). The bartenders are quite entertaining as well!

Uluwatu, Bali

360 Rooftop — Located inside the Anantara Uluwatu hotel. You will get to enjoy traditional Indonesian dishes such as nasi goreg, soto ayam and rendang balung sampi. If you love spicy food, Indonesian cuisine is for you!

Need to know

When booking your trip to Bali, Indonesia, make sure you confirm that you are booking during the islands dry season! Bali is different from the rest of Southeast Asia. Their dry season is from April–October, which is typically the opposite of surrounding areas such as Thailand and the Philippines. Both Singapore & Bali are extremely hot & humid, so please pack comfortable clothing!
