Things to do in and around Bozeman

Hyalite Canyon and Reservoir
Just south of Bozeman in the Custer Gallatin National Forest is a year‑round playground surrounded by mountain peaks, waterfalls, and forested trails. The reservoir is perfect for boating, fishing, and kayaking, while nearby hikes lead to Hyalite Peak and several scenic falls.
Whitewater rafting
An unforgettable experience for adventure lovers. There are tours for all skill levels, and wetsuits are provided. This is something we still talk about years later!
College 'M' hike
Not for the faint of heart and one of Bozeman’s most iconic hikes, climbing to the large white “M” overlooking the Gallatin Valley. Dogs are allowed (many are off-leash) and the trail is easily accessible with a parking lot.
Bozeman Beach
AKA Glen Lake Rotary Park, this is the best place to get some sun and relax. Whether you’re wanting to get a tan, paddleboard, or fish, this is the spot! Try out MAP Brewing on the lake for a refreshing drink.
Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone National Park is approximately an hour and a half from Bozeman and is a must-do. It is a vast wilderness of mountains, forests, and geothermal wonders, famous for its wildlife and iconic features like Old Faithful and the Grand Prismatic Spring. There’s plenty of wildlife viewing, from elk to buffalo and bears.
Float the Madison River
With options to meet at the river, or take a shuttle from Bozeman. As we had a car, we met at the river, where they supplied tubes and a shuttle at the end of the river back to our vehicle. You’re able to bring coolers and I advise wearing water shoes.
Places to eat & drink in and around Bozeman

Sidewinders American Grill is our go-to spot to bring friends for a casual meal. With a full bar and rooftop seating, this restaurant has options for all palates.
Bozeman Taproom & Spirits has the best cocktails and rooftop seating options. Try a Huckleberry Haze for a local option!
MAP Brewing is located on Glen Lake in the heart of Bozeman. From stunning views and outdoor seating, this is a great spot to kick back on a lawn chair, let your dog run, and enjoy a refreshing drink.
For a fancier evening, check out Feast Bozeman.
