Advisor - Curating Family Time on Kiawah Island
Curator’s statement

Kiawah Island has been a cherished escape for me since childhood, when its pristine beaches, sparkling pools, and endless bike paths filled my days with adventure. Today, it’s the ideal setting for family celebrations. Mornings begin with breathtaking sunrises and bike rides along 10 miles of uninterrupted shoreline, while evenings end with sunsets that paint the sky. In between, we savor fresh, flavorful dishes at charming local restaurants. Over the years, I’ve introduced friends to this coastal gem—and it’s quickly become our go-to destination to relax, reconnect, and recharge.

Things to do on Kiawah Island

Sunrise bike ride

On Kiawah Island, the best way to start the day is on two-wheels. Pedal along shaded bike paths that wind through maritime forests, or ride right on the firm, hard-packed sand where the ocean keeps pace beside you. As you explore, climb one of the island’s three marsh towers for sweeping views of winding waterways and golden marsh grass that seem to stretch forever.

For those who love a little friendly competition, the Roy Barth Tennis Center offers world-class courts for both tennis and pickleball. Afterward, trade the racket for a glass and settle into a seat at the Ryder Cup Bar, where a refreshing Gator Bite pairs perfectly with the view of golfers finishing their round on the famous 18th fairway.

A leisurely ride to Freshfields Village is always a treat—stop for one of the island’s best lunches, then browse the high-end shops for a little coastal-inspired indulgence. Back near the beach, wander through The Sanctuary’s charming shops before ending the day with a cocktail on the grand lawn. As the kids run and play with the ocean shimmering in the background, you’ll be reminded why Kiawah is so easy to fall in love with.
