Curator’s statement
What a perfect relaxing retreat! For my partner and I, our recent five-day escape to Cabo was more than just a vacation—it was a much-needed breath of fresh air. We chose to stay at the Hilton Los Cabos Beach and Golf Resort, we loved it! With the beautiful surf, great restaurants, and a room with a view, it was exactly what we were looking for. Cabo surprised us with its delightful flavors, world-class golf, and the romance of a sunset sail. It was a true respite, a chance to reconnect and recharge amidst the beauty of Baja. If you’re seeking a destination that blends relaxation with incredible experiences, I highly recommend Cabo!

Things to do in Cabo

Breathtaking sunset sail
Cabana relaxation
One of the first things we did upon arriving in Cabo, with ‘relaxation’ being our only agenda, was to secure a beachside cabana for a day. It was pure bliss. The sun warmed our skin, a light breeze rustled through the palm fronds, and the only decisions we had to make were which tropical drink to try next.
From our vantage point, we had a front-row seat to the endless expanse of the ocean, watching the surfers catch waves and the occasional boat drift by. It was a day dedicated to doing absolutely nothing but soaking in the beauty and each other’s company—a perfect embodiment of our Cabo escape.
Golf
While I’m not a golfer myself, my partner thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to experience Cabo’s renowned golf scene, even fitting in two different tee times. He raved about both the Cabo Real Golf Club and Rancho San Lucas Golf Club.
From what I gathered (and the photos he shared!), both courses boasted impeccably maintained greens and absolutely stunning views. It was clear these weren’t just rounds of golf, but opportunities to immerse oneself in the beautiful Cabo landscape while enjoying the sport.
Spa
While my partner spent time on the greens, I discovered my own version of paradise in Cabo’s exceptional spas. My facial at the Eforea Spa within the Hilton Los Cabos was truly one of the best and most deeply relaxing I’ve ever experienced.
Then, on another day, I indulged in an outdoor massage at the Grand Solmar Pacific Dunes Spa. The gentle ocean breeze, the soothing sounds of nature, and the skilled hands of the therapist created an atmosphere of pure tranquility. It was unbelievably relaxing!
Sunset cruise
We booked a sunset cruise from Cabo San Lucas Marina that promised fun music, great scenery, and unlimited open bar with appetizers—and it didn’t disappoint. Cruising along the tranquil Sea of Cortez, we made our way towards the iconic El Arco, where the sea merges with the vast Pacific Ocean.
Along the way, we were treated to the sights of Lovers Beach and the beautiful beachfront properties that line the coast. We saw a couple of sea lions and a stingray along the way! The sunset was beautiful, it was the perfect way to soak in the beauty of Cabo from a different perspective. And of course, we did purchase the souvenir photos so we have great memories.
Water activities
While our focus was on relaxation, Cabo is also a haven for water enthusiasts! We saw plenty of people taking advantage of the incredible coastline and the Sea of Cortez. Popular activities include jet ski rides and of course, surfing the renowned Baja waves. Many also enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving to explore the vibrant underwater world teeming with marine life.
For a more leisurely experience, paddleboarding and kayaking are fantastic ways to glide along and discover hidden coves. Whether you’re seeking adrenaline-pumping thrills or a peaceful connection with the ocean, Cabo offers a wide array of water activities to choose from.

Sunset Monalisa beauty!
Sunset Monalisa
For a truly unforgettable evening in Cabo, Sunset Monalisa is a must. We were completely wowed by it. Imagine sitting down to a delicious meal as the sun puts on an absolute show, painting the sky in these incredible, vibrant colors over the ocean. It’s the kind of view that just takes your breath away. And honestly, the food lived up to the setting. They offer a number of prefixed options and a fantastic wine list. I enjoyed some of the best sea bass I’ve ever had and my partner had a ribeye steak he’s still talking about! We had a bottle of 2022 Fiulot Prunotto Barbera D’Asti—perfect!
Hilton Los Cabos Resort Dining
During our stay at the Hilton Los Cabos, we had the pleasure of dining at the resort’s exceptional restaurants, each offering a unique and delightful culinary experience. At Talavera, we truly savored the authentic flavors of Mexico, enjoying beautifully prepared dishes that showcased the country’s diverse regional cuisine. It was a vibrant and immersive dining experience.
Vela offered a more refined ambiance, and we were impressed by the creative fusion of Italian and Mexican influences. Dining by the infinity pool, with its lovely views, made for particularly memorable evenings.
And for a more relaxed setting, Leña by the pool was fantastic. We loved the delicious grilled specialties and the laid-back atmosphere, all while overlooking the stunning Tequila Cove. Each restaurant contributed to making our culinary journey in Cabo as enjoyable and relaxing as the rest of our trip.
Flora Farms
Another culinary highlight of our Cabo trip was our lunch at Flora Farms. Stepping onto the property felt like entering a little oasis. It’s this beautiful organic farm in the foothills, and the atmosphere is just so charming and relaxed. We sat down for lunch at their restaurant, and the food was incredible—everything tasted so fresh and vibrant, clearly sourced right from the farm itself. And I have to mention, they also make an incredibly impressive Bloody Mary—definitely a highlight!
From the delicious salads to the flavorful main courses, you could really taste the quality of the ingredients. It was more than just a meal—it was a lovely experience connecting with the land and enjoying truly wholesome and delicious food in a beautiful setting. Definitely a unique and memorable spot!
Need to know
One thing we appreciated during our time in Cabo was feeling safe and comfortable throughout our trip. We primarily stayed within the resort areas, which were very secure, and when we did venture out in the evenings, like our Uber ride back from the sunset sail, we felt at ease. Of course, as with any travel, it’s always wise to be mindful of your surroundings, but based on our experience, especially sticking to the main tourist areas and resorts, we found Cabo to be a welcoming and safe destination for a relaxing getaway.
