Curator’s statement
From the moment we stepped onto the Disney Fantasy, it truly felt like Christmas had wrapped itself around the ship. The decor was warm, elegant, and festive without being over the top, with giant trees, garlands, and magical holiday details everywhere you turned. The service was incredible in that quiet, effortless way Disney does so well, with Cast Members anticipating needs, surprising us with little magic tricks, and adding special cabin touches that made the stay even more joyful. Even Castaway Cay carried the holiday spirit, with festive decor set against the turquoise water, making the Bahamas and Disney’s private cays feel like a perfect blend of Christmas magic and tropical escape.

Things to do

Unexpected Disney character encounters
One of the most magical parts of the cruise is running into Disney characters in unexpected places around the ship. These spontaneous moments often feel more personal and create some of the most memorable photos.Broadway-quality musicals at sea
The theater productions are truly next level, with Broadway-caliber performers, stunning sets, immersive storytelling, and surprise elements like confetti and in-theater effects that pull you right into the show.Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab
These are filled with activities, themed areas, games, and high-energy parties that kids genuinely love. Family open house times were a highlight, giving parents the chance to explore and enjoy the experience together.Pirate Night
Pirate Night completely transforms the ship into a swashbuckling adventure, with characters in themed outfits, pirate-inspired menus, and a lively deck party. The evening culminates with an unforgettable show on the top deck and fireworks at sea.Sail Away party
The Sail Away party sets the tone for the entire cruise, filling the top deck with music, dancing, and beloved characters. It instantly shifts everyone into vacation mode and feels like the official start of the magic.Story time with Mrs. Claus
This warm and cozy holiday experience is especially magical for kids. It felt intimate and festive, a special memory made just for the season.RUSH! A Junkanoo Celebration at Lookout Cay
The musical parade is vibrant and joyful, showcasing traditional Bahamian music, colorful costumes, and festive island energy. It is a beautiful cultural celebration that adds a unique and memorable layer to the destination experience.Relaxing in a Verandah Stateroom
Having a private verandah becomes a peaceful retreat throughout the cruise. It is the perfect place to enjoy quiet mornings, ocean breezes, and calm moments to recharge between all the activities.
Need to know
Plan for onboard spending
It is very easy to spend more than expected once onboard. Between cruise-exclusive merchandise, holiday items, and souvenirs you can only find on the ship, I recommend budgeting extra so you can enjoy it without second-guessing every purchase.Pre-pay for the photo package
The ship is filled with professional photo opportunities, from elegant backdrops to characters in special holiday outfits. Pre-paying for the photo package saves money and takes the pressure off deciding which photos to keep later.Speak up if something feels off
If something is not right, say something early. Guest Services and Cast Members genuinely want to make things right and often add a little extra “pixie dust” that can turn a small issue into a special moment.Book activities as soon as your window opens
Some onboard experiences fill up very quickly, especially specialty dining like Royal Court. Staying on top of your booking window makes a big difference in getting your top choices.Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is worth it
This experience is pure magic for kids. Bringing a favorite princess outfit from home can help keep costs down while still letting them enjoy the full transformation.Bring cabin decor and magnetic hooks
Cabin door magnets are fun and make it easy to spot your stateroom. Magnetic hooks are surprisingly useful for hats, bags, lanyards, and swimsuits.Pack smart for embarkation day
Staterooms are usually ready around 1:30 pm, and luggage can take a few hours to arrive. I recommend packing swimsuits and a cover-up in your carry-on so you can start enjoying the ship right away, but avoid over-packing since you will be carrying it with you.
