Curator’s statement

Santa Monica is special to me because my brother spent a handful of years there after college, and each visit created beautiful memories, warmth, and comfort, and provided an escape from the cold NY weather! Santa Monica combines the iconic Pacific coastline with an effortlessly refined lifestyle rooted in wellness, walkability, and exceptional dining. Beach walks, thoughtful shopping and boutiques, cafés and cocktails are the best way to spend the weekend while having larger urban city centers at your fingertips.

  • Santa Monica Pier & Beach: Classic boardwalk feel with wide stretches of beach and activity along the sidewalks.

  • Brentwood Country Mart: Quaint and charming, while also nostalgic, the collection of shops and food stalls is a small and cozy piece of Brentwood that is a must-visit.

  • Abbott Kinney Boulevard: Creative, artistic, gallery-filled streets with boutique shopping, also full of eatery options and food trucks to make the most of this experience.

  • Rodeo Drive: Luxury shopping and glamorous restaurants that are always buzzing!

Places to eat & drink in Los Angeles

Layla Bagels! Another top spot.

  • Tartine Bakery: A cozy European-style café with exceptional pastries, coffee, and breads.

  • Great White: Bright and beachy, this restaurant offers fresh, California-focused dishes. Ideal for lunch or a glass of wine!

  • R&D Kitchen: A relative of Hillstone, R&D is chic and effortlessly cool. Make sure to get the Crispy Chicken Sandwich and a Martini!

  • Night + Market: Bold and flavorful Thai food that will be sure to test your taste buds with spice. This is a favorite for many in LA.

  • Parks Korean BBQ: Premium Korean BBQ with tons of side dishes and great add-ons for this meal. One of the most lively and fun spots I’ve been!

  • Tower Bar, Sunset Tower Hotel: Tower Bar is a chic lounge-style bar atop the Sunset Tower Hotel. Premium cocktails and a fun, elevated atmosphere will have everyone enjoying their time here.

  • Dan Tana's Restaurant: The definition of old Hollywood—LA Glamour, history, and timeless charm meet at this buzzy Italian restaurant.
