Day 1: Downtown Charleston

Start your trip off with a horse-and-buggy carriage ride with Old South Carriage Company. See the downtown area on a romantic ride through town, with a guide to narrate the “not to miss” spots during the rest of the trip. Rainbow Row is beautiful and a perfect spot for pictures. You have to see the pineapple fountain and the sunset at Sullivan’s Island. Take a jailhouse ghost tour in Old City Jail, and end it on one of the many rooftop bars in the area, such as Peacock Rooftop Bar, and try the Thin Mint Martini! There are many options for tours and activities in Charleston.

Day 2: History & culture

Historic walking tour, the city is such a beauty

Take a guided Charleston sightseeing tour for a history and culture-focused day. Two Sister’s walking tour is amazing and informative. Shop King St. (third largest shopping district in US), try the Shem Creek Kayak tour, and lunch at Saltwater Cowboys for the boiled shrimp. Dinner at Church and Union for a treat for the senses. Try the fried chicken or meatloaf for a real culinary experience. End the night at Coastal Cantina for margaritas.

Day 3: Final day

Start the last day at Poogan’s Porch for brunch or the Coop, a cold coffee brew shop. Spend the day on the water, maybe try kayaking or sailing. Scotty Doesn’t Know speakeasy is very entertaining. Check out St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. End the last day with a food tour from Best of Charleston! End the trip on the Rooftop at Ritual for a night cap and to think about the weekend you just spent in the beautiful Charleston.

Need to know

Charleston can be visited any time of the year, but Christmas is magical. If your focus is water activities, skip winter and opt for spring or summer. Either way, you will not be disappointed. It is walkable and has great access to transportation. The downtown area is filled with culture, history, food, and beautiful scenery. It is a romantic getaway that you won’t forget.
