Things to do in London

Shopping in the London Arcades

Embankment, the London Eye, and Big Ben/Houses of Parliament: Walking along the Thames or taking a boat cruise on the Thames can be a relaxing activities after a long overnight flight!

The British Museum & high Tea at the museum: A stellar collection of artifacts from around the world. Great architecture, too!

The City and the Tate Modern: I highly recommend visiting when the offices are closed—it gives zombie apocalypse, but nothing beats seeing St Paul’ s Cathedral from the footbridge that leads to the Tate Modern Gallery.

Catch a show in Charing Cross (for theater fans).

Shop Bond, Mayfair, and Chelsea: upscale shopping on beautiful, quiet streets and arcades (Burlington and Piccadilly).

Visit a bakery in Knightsbridge and go to Harrods. Get fish and chips in the food court.

Catch a football match: There’s a choice of various locations, depending on your schedule (Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, West Ham, Crystal Palace, and Fulham).

Go for a stroll in the beautiful and quaint Hampstead Heath or Richmond (for Ted Lasso fans).

Places to eat & drink in London

Food court at Harrods

Harrods: Kerridge’s in the food court: fish and chips—the smoked trout starter is also excellent

Gymkhana: Indian food—ask for the puffed rice and avocado starter. It’s a wonderful place for creative cocktails.

108 Brasserie Marylebone, London: Steak frites or fish and chips.

Cedric Grolet: French bakery at the Berkeley hotel, Wilton Place. As a French person, I had to add a French bakery of reputable quality!

Bun House. Chinatown: Not your traditional restaurant, but Chinatown in London is worth a visit for its atmosphere. Here you’ll find buns and dim sum.

Sketch on Regent Street: Upscale restaurant that’s great for afternoon tea, cocktails, and dinner. The decor is worth a visit on its own.

Need to know

London’s weather is changing. It can be mild all year long or scorching in the summer. Make sure to plan for varied weather when you pack.

I also recommend booking tickets for the British Museum, Westminster Abbey, or the London Eye in advance. Lines are really long otherwise, and you will not be guaranteed entry.

There are day trips available to take you out of the city. Contact me to find out about Oxford, Cotswolds, or Brighton day trips!
