Curator’s statement
Saint Lucia is truly iconic for the way its dramatic, emerald-green Pitons rise straight out of the turquoise sea, creating a vertical landscape that is unlike anywhere else in the Caribbean. The island offers a rare blend of high-energy adventure and deep relaxation, where you can hike through lush rainforests or drive into a “volcano” before unwinding in world-class mud baths and luxury spas. It’s a destination that appeals to every sense, pairing stunning colonial architecture and vibrant local markets with some of the most romantic, open-air dining experiences in the world.

Day 1: Arrival into paradise and Piton vistas

After arriving at Hewanorra International Airport (UVF), you will take a private transfer through the island’s lush, winding terrain to your villa in the Soufrière region. This area is the crown jewel of St. Lucia, where the iconic Pitons rise dramatically from the sea, providing a breathtaking backdrop the moment you check in.
I recommend spending your first evening on property to soak in the sunset, as the west-facing cliffs offer one of the most spectacular golden hour views on the island.
Insider tip: Arrange your airport transfer at least 24 hours in advance via your hotel app to ensure a seamless transition from the tarmac to your terrace.
Day 2: Coastal relaxation between the Twin Peaks
Spend your first full day at Sugar Beach, a world-renowned stretch of white sand nestled directly between the Petit and Gros Piton. This location is perfect for travelers who want to combine a high-end resort vibe with incredible snorkeling and swimming in crystal-clear waters.
I suggest enjoying a long, casual lunch at a beachfront restaurant so you can watch the waves without ever leaving the sand.

A note from Gabby
Note for travelers: Public access to resort beaches can sometimes require a reservation or a day pass fee, so have your agent confirm entry details ahead of time.
Day 3: Volcanic wonders and tropical splendor

This day is all about immersing yourself in the island’s unique geology, starting with a visit to the Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens to see the vibrant, mineral-tinted waterfall.
You should follow this with a trip to Sulphur Springs, the world’s only “drive-in volcano,” where you can take a restorative dip in the natural mud baths. This experience is a “must-do” because it combines the island’s raw volcanic energy with a fun, hands-on wellness ritual.
Insider tip: Wear a dark-colored swimsuit for the mud baths, as the high mineral content in the volcanic clay can stain lighter fabrics.
Day 4: Rainforest adventures and sunset sailing
For a change of pace, start your morning with a high-energy ATV tour through local villages and rainforest trails to see the rugged side of the island’s beauty.
After working up an appetite, head to the coast for a late-afternoon catamaran cruise to experience the Pitons from the perspective of the Caribbean Sea. I recommend the “Golden Hour” sail because watching the sun dip below the horizon from the water is the most peaceful way to cap off an adventurous day.

A note from Gabby
Note for travelers: The Atlantic side of the island can be breezy, so bring a light waterproof jacket for the ATV trails to stay comfortable.
Day 5: Elevated dining and romantic farewells

Your final day is designed for slow-paced luxury, allowing you to enjoy your villa’s pool or a private spa treatment before your grand finale dinner.
I highly recommend booking a table at an open-air restaurant like Ladera, which sits on a ridge 1,000 feet above the sea, offering a sophisticated atmosphere and unparalleled views. It is the perfect way to reflect on your journey while enjoying world-class Caribbean fusion cuisine.
Insider tip: Aim for a 5:30 p.m. or 6 p.m. reservation to ensure you are seated and settled just as the sky begins to change color over the peaks.
Need to know
When traveling to St. Lucia, keep in mind that driving is on the left and the mountainous roads are best navigated via private transfers or a 4x4 vehicle.
While U.S. dollars are widely accepted, carrying local Eastern Caribbean Dollars (XCD) is essential for smaller vendors, as digital payment apps like Venmo do not function on the island.
Be sure to pack a dark-colored swimsuit for the volcanic mud baths to avoid staining, and remember that wearing or carrying any camouflage print is strictly illegal.
Finally, respect the local “resort elegant” dress code by opting for more formal attire at dinner, and always complete your digital arrival form online before landing to ensure a smooth transition through customs.
