Things to do in Sonoma County

  • Explore Healdsburg’s town square shops and galleries.

  • Spend the day wine tasting in the Dry Creek Appellation with a bike tour and picnic.

  • Rent a canoe at Burke’s Canoes for a float down the Russian River.

  • Head back to your hotel for a relaxing afternoon at the pool or spa treatments.

  • Head West to the Pacific Ocean via the Russian River area, and stop for a hike in the Redwoods at Armstrong Redwoods State Park or Hike the Kortum Trail Kortum Trail.

  • Explore beaches along the coast that offer a multitude of surprises, from tidepools to seals. Check out Bodega Bay for fresh local oysters, crab, or fish from local fishermen. Explore Bodega Head for spring/winter whale watching and incredible views.

  • Visit any time of year. Every season offers unique flora, fauna, and outdoor adventures.

  • Note: During the summer, there can be a 30-degree difference between the coast and inland, so if you like it warmer, go inland. If you like it cool, go west towards the beach.

  • Sonoma County is vast—it’s important to choose the town and accommodations that fit your vibe, from casual to luxe and close to your activities.

  • Renting a car is best if you want to hike, go to the beach, and experience more than just wine tasting.

  • Wine tasting is best enjoyed via driving tours or bike tours.
