The Arch of Cabo San Lucas (El Arco)

  • Waldorf Astoria Resort: Enjoy their beaches, plus access to all of their neighbor resorts, to indulge in their poolside bars and restaurants.

  • Taboo: Bougie beach club. Very energetic, world-class dining, beachfront vibes, and music that keeps the celebration alive all day and night.

  • Luxury yacht ride: This takes you alongside the stunning coastline. Take in the iconic Arch, swim in crystal-clear waters, and toast to unforgettable moments with your crew, all while feeling like you’re living a scene out of a dream.

Seaside outings

YuHi

Inside the Riu Palace Baja California all-inclusive resort lies authentic Japanese cuisine that offers a refined and romantic atmosphere. Think elegant decor and intimate lighting, paired with traditional Japanese dishes and flavors, making it a good spot for a special evening in Cabo.

Cocina de Autor (Grand Velas Los Cabos)

A Michelin-starred fine-dining jewel, where Chef Sidney Schutte creates beautifully composed tasting menus that surprise and delight with unexpected pairings and locally sourced ingredients.

Flora's Field Kitchen

Set on a lush working farm in Animas Bajas, this spot offers seasonal, sustainable cuisine in a relaxed, charming environment among gardens and farm animals. It's good for when you want something fresh, tranquil, and very “Baja” rather then resorted.

Manta at The Cape

Blends Japanese, Peruvian, and Mexican influences into dishes that reflect Cabo's coastal location. The view from the restaurant, especially at sunset, is as memorable as what's on the plate.

Hacienda Cocina y Cantina

Overlooking the Sea of Cortez and set just above Medano Beach, this restaurant offers both amazing views and a vibrant Mexican flavor. Experience strong margaritas, guac made tableside, and hearty dishes like the Molcajete Mixto. It's festive, energetic, and a great place for a sunset dinner with friends.

Need to know

Beaches & water tips

  • Not all beaches are swimmable. Cabo is famous for its stunning coastline, but many beaches have strong undertows. Stick to safe beaches like Medano Beach, Chileno Bay, and Santa Maria Beach for swimming.

  • Water clarity is incredible for snorkeling. Pack or rent gear for Chileno Bay or Santa Maria for colorful fish and calm water.

Dining & nightlife

  • Make dinner reservations for popular restaurants like Farallon, Sunset Monalisa, and Flora Farms well in advance.

  • Cabo has bougie beach clubs (Taboo, Bagatelle, and Omnia Dayclub) and casual nightlife places like Cabo Wabo or Mango Deck. Decide your vibe ahead of time.

Activities & adventure

  • Boat/yacht rides are a must to see El Arco, Lover's Beach, and the Pacific/Sea of Cortez meeting point.

  • Adventure-lovers should try ATV tours, camel rides, or zip-lining in the desert landscapes.

  • Cabo is also known for whale watching (Dec–April) and deep-sea fishing (year-round).

Shopping & culture

  • For authentic souvenirs, skip the touristy stalls and check out San Jose del Cabo's Art District on Thursdays for local art and crafts.

  • Tequila and mezcal tastings are a fun way to experience Mexican culture, and many resorts and local bars offer curated experiences.

Practical travel tips

  • The peso is the official currency, but USD is widely accepted. Carry some pesos for taxis, tips, and small shops.

  • For transportation, taxis can be pricey. Consider booking a shuttle or private driver ahead of time. Ubers aren’t always allowed for pickups at the airport.

  • Cabo is sunny year-round, but hurricane season runs from late summer to early fall (June–October).

  • Cabo is generally safe in tourist zones, but always stick to trusted transportation and avoid isolated areas late at night.

  • Pro tip: If you want a quieter scene, head to San Jose del Cabo for a quieter, artsy vibe compared to Cabo San Lucas.
