Advisor - Olbia Beyond the Airport: A Local’s Guide to Shopping
Curator’s statement

Olbia is often seen as a gateway—the airport, the port, the road to Costa Smeralda. But beyond its role as an arrival point, the town has its own rhythm and understated charm. I love Olbia for its mix of Sardinian authenticity and contemporary Italian style. If you know where to look, it offers thoughtful boutiques, artisan finds, and relaxed shopping without the excess of luxury resort destinations.

Things to do in Olbia, Italy

Handmade sandals

Stroll along Corso Umberto I

The heart of Olbia’s shopping scene. Small independent boutiques, Italian fashion brands, and local jewelers line the pedestrian-friendly street. It’s best explored slowly, ideally in the late afternoon when the town feels most alive. My faves: Dolce Quela Clothing, Sandali Amalia, The Green Life.

Discover Sardinian craft & design

Look for stores that showcase handmade ceramics, woven textiles, and cork accessories—subtle reminders of Sardinia’s artisan heritage. These pieces feel far more meaningful than generic souvenirs. My faves: Artigianato Pasella, Michelino Deiana.

Italian fashion with a relaxed edge

Olbia offers a softer version of Italian style compared to Porto Cervo. Expect curated multi-brand boutiques rather than flashy designer flagships. My faves: Frama Concept, Sini & Conte.

Local gourmet shops

Specialty food shops are worth a visit for Pecorino Sardo, local honey, Bottarga, and Cannonau or Vermentino wine. Even if you’re not buying, it’s a sensory experience! My faves: Top Sardinia, La Dispensa di Iaia.

Coffee & pause culture

Shopping here is unhurried. A quick espresso break in a small café is part of the ritual—it’s about atmosphere as much as purchases.
