Curator’s statement
My family lives in South Florida, so we travel there several times a year to visit them. Visiting grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins includes many visits to playgrounds. We have found some public playgrounds and parks that my son loves to play at with his younger cousin.

Things to do in South Florida, Florida

Barrier Free Park: Located in Boynton Beach, Florida, next to the Tennis Center. This playground has three play areas to accommodate a range of ages and abilities. They also have a few infant swings and a splash pad. The park has a public restroom and picnic areas as well. Parking is plentiful at this playground and can be found on both sides of the park.
Ocean Front Beach Park: Combine a trip to the Ocean Ridge beach with a stop at the playground, which is located along A1A at the entrance to the beach. Parking is available on site. This playground has a bigger slide and some advanced equipment for kids who like to climb (like my son).
Caloosa Park: Located in Boynton Beach, Caloosa Park has swings, fields, walking trails and pickleball courts. We often come to play pickleball while someone stays back with my son to run around the open space or play ball outside.
Sugar Sand Park: Located in Boca Raton, Sugar Sand Park is free to enter and play on the playground. The park also includes a Children’s Science Explorium and carousel, which are a small fee (donation-based).
Veterans Park: Located in Delray Beach, close to Atlantic Avenue. Veterans Park is a great playground to stop at if visiting downtown Delray for lunch or after a beach day.
