Need to know

  • Dress and cultural etiquette: Dubai is modern, but it is still part of the UAE, so modest dress is expected in public places like malls, souks, and religious sites. Cover shoulders and knees, especially for women. Swimwear is fine at beaches and pools, but avoid walking around public areas in swimsuits.

  • Weather and best time to visit: The best time to visit is October to April when temperatures are cooler (25–30°C / 77–86°F). Summers (May–September) are extremely hot, often exceeding 40°C (104°F), but resorts, malls, and attractions are air-conditioned.

  • Transportation: Taxis are reliable, but ridesharing apps like Careem are often more convenient. The Dubai Metro is clean, safe, and efficient for getting around the city. Renting a car is optional but useful if you plan on visiting desert or outskirts.
