My father-in-law immigrated from Croatia to the USA, and so my family could not wait to visit. Croatia is one of the most beautiful and underrated destinations in Europe. It has gorgeous beaches, hidden coves and crystal clear water. Croatia has a rich history and culture from Roman ruins to medieval walled cities, Croatia has a lot to offer history buffs. You will also indulge in delicious food, especially seafood and wine.

Things to do in Croatia

Explore the historic city of Dubrovnik. You can walk the walls, explore the Old Town, or take a cable car up to Mount Srd for stunning views of the city.
Hike or bike in Plitvice Lakes National Park
Relax on the beach in Hvar. You will find beautiful beaches, beach clubs, clear waters and a lively nightlife scene.
Sail the Dalmatian Coast. This is a great way to see the islands and hidden coves of Croatia.
Go wine tasting in Istria. Istria is known for its wine production and there and many wineries that offer tours and tastings.
Visit the Roman City of Pula. Pula is home to a well-preserved Roman amphitheater, as well as other Roman Ruins.
Explore Diocletian's Palace in Split, Croatia. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is an ancient Roman Palace that is now the heart of the old town.
Visit the Game of Thrones filming locations. Split was used as a filming location for several scenes in Game of Thrones.
Day trips
Hvar Boat Tour: Book a private boat tour and spend the day on the water. It is worth every penny. You can customize your itinerary and visit the Blue Cave, Pakleni Islands, Vis Island. Be sure to stop at Laganini Lounge for a fabulous lunch!
