Things to do in Nashville

Line dancing class: Take a free line dancing class at Luke Combs’ new bar, Category 10. The instructors break it all down so that you can follow along easily. Then take your new moves to any honky tonk in town!
Country Music Hall of Fame: Spend some time in this beautiful museum. Costumes, instruments, and other amazing memorabilia from your favorite country music entertainers, along with the history of the genre, all in one place.
The Gulch: Cool area of shopping and restaurants when you’re ready to get out of the neon lights. Restaurants include everything from biscuit pros to a British pub!
Printer’s Alley: Night-time photo shoot, drinks, and lots of music. It’s off the beaten Broadway path, so expect more intimate bars, different music including jazz, and a cool atmosphere.
The Grand Ole Opry: Of course, you must see the Opry. Check out the website for when your favorite singers will be on stage. If you want to tour it, make sure you get tickets ahead of time because this famed spot is not open every day.
The Ryman Auditorium: Where it all began. Tours and concerts are still available in this historic building.
Try a tour: I took a hop-on-hop-off bus tour and was fascinated to see Music Row, the TN State House, and a full-scale replica of the Parthenon—YES—the Parthenon!
Places to eat & drink in Nashville

The Star Rover Sound: This restaurant is about a 10 minute drive away from Broadway. The menu is small and to the point, and everything is delicious, which is why it’s on Eater Nashville’s 15 Best Steakhouses Around Nashville list. (The bread rolls are absolutely delectable.) You might even try the “76er Challenge”.
Kid Rock’s Big Honky Tonk and Rock n’ Roll Steakhouse: Yes, it’s huge, and it’s loud, and it serves some of the best food on Broadway. Try the Caesar salad, cheeseburger and fries, or anything on the menu while you enjoy the live music! The waiters and bartenders are incredible, and the service is great even when it gets really crowded. (Really clean bathrooms, too.)
1 Kitchen: A really beautiful restaurant with a full bar and a light, airy vibe. The brunch menu has a lot to offer. Be careful, there may be some birds flying around.
Puckett’s Restaurant: A great breakfast/brunch spot when you need a quiet morning. Ask to go upstairs and get a table in the open air.
Detroit Cowboy: A beautiful Kid Rock restaurant with cool vibes and delicious food. Make this your “fancy” night out. It’s about a ten minute drive from Broadway and worth it. Maybe ask your waiter for a tour of the “Private” room.
Robert’s Western World: A true honky tonk on Broadway. You can tell by the decor that it’s been here a while, and the music is typically old-school country where the genre began. The star, though, is the $6 Recession Special: fried bologna sandwich, bag of chips, MoonPie, and a PBR. Get it—you’ll love it!
Need to know
Your cowboy boots better be great walking boots—you’ll walk a lot.
Posty’s is a great place for food, drinks, and country/rock music.
The police shut down Broadway on Saturday nights and during special occasions, like when Vanderbilt football wins and the students bring the goal post down Broadway to the river.
Very big crowds on Broadway and in the bars. Make sure you keep up with your personal items and friends.
Be very aware of street-crossing signs all the time. There is a lot of traffic.
