Advisor - Barcelona in Bloom: Food, Feelings & Famous Sights
Curator’s statement

This was the last trip I took with my friends before I moved to the United States from Poland. I cherish this trip in my heart and think about it quite often. Instead of doing the usual touristy things, we immersed ourselves into the culture by eating tapas, sipping sangria, and walking the streets of Barcelona.

Things to do in Barcelona

  • Parc Güell: A must-see tourist attraction. The most amazing and breathtaking park I have ever been to. The nature combined with stunning and unique architecture of Gaudi.

  • Mercat de la Boqueria: A large local food market located near the La Rambla street (most famous street in Barcelona). You can find everything from fresh fruit through a great selection of cheeses and hams to delicious seafood.

  • Barceloneta Beach: When you visit Barcelona, you get the best of both worlds as it is a coastal city. Barceloneta beach is a beautiful and lively place to spend your time while visiting Spain.

  • Montjuïc: High hill overlooking Barcelona’s harbor. It can be reached by taking a cable car or hiking. It is a stunning combination of gardens and architecture.

  • Flamenco night: Barcelona offers quite a few places where you can watch a flamenco show while also enjoying your dinner.

  • Ciutadella Park: A picturesque park in the middle of the city. It is surrounded by a lot of restaurants and bars and also tons of orange trees. Locals often make picnics and relax in this park.

  • Shopping on Passeig de Gràcia: A street with a lot of shops, including brands like Zara and Uniqlo, but also high-luxury stores like Prada or Chanel.

Places to eat & drink in Barcelona

  • Jon Cake: The best cheesecake you will ever have. Make sure to get there early as there is always a line.

  • Sabio Infante Brunch & Coffee: Perfect breakfast spot. The restaurant has a charming, eclectic vibe to it.

  • Fet a Ma Pan i Pizza 24h: If you find yourself partying all night, that is the best place to go before you head back to your hotel.

  • La Guapa Vermuteria: This restaurant offers an amazing selection of delicious tapas and drinks. Laid-back space that offers sitting inside as well as outside on a tree-lined terrace.

  • Cafe Menssana: Delicious brunch/lunch spot serving amazing chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, and even burgers.

  • Cerveseria Catalana: Abundance of tapas selection with delicious Sangria. Vibrant atmosphere and excellent service.

Need to know

My biggest advice when visiting Barcelona, or any new place: slow down and enjoy your trip. Do not rush anything. The most beautiful moments are created in peace.
