Things to do in Costa Rica

La Reserva Bosque Nuboso Santa Elena: A quiet, less-traveled preserve in the Santa Elena Cloud Forest. It has miles of trails where you can see birds, monkeys and the incredible cloud forest.
Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Preserve: Popular preserve to explore the cloud forest through trails and hanging bridges. Go with a guide for the best chance of spotting wildlife!
Birdwatching & Other Wildlife: There are so many species unique to Monteverde due to the cloud forest, one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in the world. Animals like the resplendent quetzal, sloth, turquoise browed motmot, Talamanca hummingbird and white-faced capuchin thrive here and are fun to see!
Relax at your hotel: Many accommodations in Monteverde offer balconies with views of the cloud forest where you can relax, drink coffee and take in the sounds. Try searching for capuchins, motmots, hummingbirds and sloths!
Monteverde Waterfall: Follow a trail along the river to the secluded waterfall. The water is cool but swimmable.
100% Aventura: For adventure seekers, this park offers zip-lining, horseback riding, ATV rides and suspension bridges.
Treetopia Park: Another park offering zip-lining, suspension bridges and guides who will help you see wildlife.

Ticos Restaurante: Traditional Costa Rican food with friendly service and decent prices. Try the fish casado!
Tiki’s Seafood Monteverde: Casual seafood restaurant with good fish tacos!
Tree House Restaurante: Restaurant in a tree! Recommended for the atmosphere and live music.
