Curator’s statement
I was speechless throughout my time in Cape Town. Serenity is the only word to describe it. Some of the most dramatic ocean hues, mountains, and landscapes I have ever seen. You know a place is out of this world when you can feel and identify fresh air—that first breath was everything. I am in love! In Johannesburg, it was so cool to see cultural parades happening randomly on the streets and such an enriched history all around.

Things to do in South Africa

Boulder Beach: The penguins are waiting for you near one of the most beautiful oceans you will ever see! The cuteness overload is worth the stench of these puffers, I promise!
Cape of Good Hope: The iconic sign letting you know you made it to the most southern point on the continent is right there for you to pose with, plus very close to an opportunity to see the magnificent seals!
Bo-kaap houses: Such a cute opportunity for a bit history and a colorful photo op.
Chapman’s Peak: This viewpoint will take your breath away, 100 percent (take a tour with a driver—they really do know the best spots for views and oftentimes everything I mentioned above can be combined into a day tour with this).
Mandela’s house: A great and quick stop to soak in history.
Places to eat & drink in South Africa

Cape Point Vineyards Tasting Room: This restaurant’s organization is great. There are so many seating sections, one with a view to a quaint garden, and the overall vibe is so elegant and serene. They have some of the best cheese to pair with the wine as well!
Salsify at the Round House: Fine dining experience in Camps Bay, a beautiful area near the coast and has a ton of mansions and shops to stroll by before or afterwards.
Marble Restaurant: Very well-known and highly-requested restaurant in Johannesburg.
The Pot Luck Club: Has a view of Table Mountain and is known for serving interesting and globally tailored tapas.
Fyn Restaurant: Known for its African-Asian fusion cuisine, offering a unique experience.
