Things to do in Sardinia

Rent a boat: The best way to experience a place like Sardinia is from the water. Sardinia has some of the most pristine beaches and most stunning turquoise waters you will ever see. Be sure to explore La Maddalena Archipelago. Our skipper arranged for us to have lunch at Blu Beach, where the sushi and vibes were both impeccable.

Stroll Porto Cervo: The heart of Costa Smeralda, where luxury yachts line the marina and designer shops fill the piazza. With its crystal-clear waters and elegant vibe, Porto Cervo is perfect for couples craving a taste of luxury by the sea. Grab a spritz at the Riva Bar at the end of the marina and enjoy the view.

Spend the day at a beach club: Take a day of relaxation with some light party vibes at Nikki Beach. You can either make a restaurant reservation here, or reserve lounge chairs and have your food and drink delivered right to you. This is what we did, and I recommend going this route for the best of both worlds.

Polto Quatu: Known as the “hidden port,” this little village is perfect for couples seeking a quieter slice of the Costa Smeralda. With its whitewashed buildings, luxury marina, and breathtaking views of the emerald sea, Poltu Quatu feels like a secret made just for two.

Beach-hopping: Sardinia has some of the most breathtaking beaches, the perfect backdrop for romance and relaxation. A few favorites of mine include Spiaggia del Principe, Spiaggia del Pevero, and Spiaggia Rosa.

Places to eat & drink in Sardinia

Aperitivo @ Romazzino: If you are not staying at the hotel, go visit for aperitivo. We enjoyed our drinks on a rooftop with breathtaking views and some of the best olives I have ever tasted.

Le Terraze Ritual: One of the best places to visit in Sardinia, this rooftop is carved into the rocks with multiple terraces offering incredible views. After dinner or drinks, head next door to the club Ritual for some late-night dancing.

Phi Beach: Like nothing I have experienced before, Phi Beach has something for everyone. This is the perfect place for sunset cocktails and turns into a fun, unique place for partying. There is a rotating list of amazing DJ performances if you and your significant other want to indulge in some late-night fun.

ConFusion: A Michelin-starred restaurant in the heart of Porto Cervo, go here for a fine dining experience.

Tanit Poltu Quatu: A gorgeous restaurant overlooking the heart of Poltu Quatu.

Josto: If you are traveling down south in Sardinia, be sure to visit Josto in Cagliari. Featuring an open kitchen, the menu offers a modern twist on Sardinian specialties.

Agriturismo: For couples craving Sardinian authenticity and an off-the-beaten-path meal, visit an agriturismo. These family-run farms offer homemade meals (often without menus!) from local ingredients. Many are set among olive groves, vineyards, or rolling hills, giving you a rustic yet romantic setting that feels a world away from the tourist trail.

Need to know

Sardinia is a large island with generally unreliable taxi service. I recommend renting a car—make sure to get an international drivers license (a relatively easy and affordable process!) to avoid any hiccups.
