Advisor - Cabo for Couples: Holiday Getaway
Curator’s statement

The sunsets are magical, the people are some of the most hospitable I have ever met, and the hotels and food scene are top-notch. Cabo has really grown into an elite vacation destination that is easy to navigate and where one can just relax or keep busy with many of the outdoor activities it offers.

Things to do in Cabo

Lands End (The Arch) on our way to see the whales!

  • If you are visiting Los Cabos from Nov–March, you must make time for some whale watching-both from the resort and out on a guided boat trip. You can spot humpback whales, dolphins, seals, and sea lions.

  • Visiting the arts district in San Jose del Cabo on Thursday evenings for the art walk is one of my favorite activities. Check out the local galleries, beautiful boutiques, and craft stores and dine at one of the many excellent restaurants like Jardin Secreto, Agave Kitchen or La Lupitas Tacos and Mezcal. The main square is buzzing with activity featuring local artists selling their wares as well as some local foods like street tacos and fresh churros. It is especially festive at holiday time!

  • Be sure to visit the new Anima Village one afternoon to do some high-end shopping in a gorgeous environment. Chill out in one of the hammocks or grab a coffee and relax in one of the sitting areas surrounding the shops.

Places to eat & drink in Cabo

Jardin Secreto—enter through the long trellised walkway

  • Flora Farms is a farm-to-table restaurant that is a destination in and of itself. The tropical drinks, pizzas, pastas, and famous pork tenderloins are famous! Be sure to walk around their shops after dinner or go for lunch and schedule a farm tour beforehand. (Be sure to make reservations here at least a month ahead of time.)

  • La Lupitas Tacos and Mezcal are known for their amazing tacos and margaritas both in downtown Cabo San Lucas and San Jose for a casual yet delicious meal.

  • Roasted in Cabo San Lucas has incredible service and delicious menu items like the asparagus with goat cheese and walnuts, ceviche, and various shrimp dishes. You cannot lose with any item on their menu.

  • Jardin Secreto is a beautiful restaurant for dinner. The ambiance is fantastic and the live music enhances your experience.

  • Agave Kitchen has wonderful outdoor rooftop dining in San Jose. It makes for a great cap-off to an evening of gallery shopping at the art walk on Thursday nights. It is cool to look down on all the buzzing activity on the streets below.

Need to know

Uber is very common in Los Cabos, as well as quite reasonable. Hotels can arrange for airport pickups, since Uber is not allowed to reach the airport. You can easily get away without renting a car for ease of travel. Hot tip: Wonderful and affordable massages are a nice treat in Cabo San Lucas by the beach.
