Things to do in Mauritius

Visit the capital, Port Louis: Port Louis is the perfect place to discover Mauritian culture. Walk through the Central Market to savor local treats and taste the local food. If you want to go shopping and find unique souvenirs, Caudan Waterfront is the perfect place.
Hiking in Le Morne: If you love hiking and beautiful scenery, you absolutely must go to the top of Le Morne. The view is absolutely magnificent. You can choose to climb with a guide or not. The hike generally lasts 3–4 hours. It is thanks to its symbolism that Le Morne Brabant was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008, an international representation of the struggle for freedom. Indeed, Morne Brabant has a deep significance for Mauritians since this mountain was a refuge for escaped slaves during the colonial period.
Catamaran cruise: Explore vibrant Grand Baie, a lively hub in northern Mauritius, known for its bustling ambiance, diverse dining, and stunning beaches. It’s the island’s own St. Tropez!
Underwater waterfall: Fly in a seaplane over the famous underwater waterfall and Le Morne Mountain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Chamarel Seven-Colored Earth Geopark: A true natural wonder nestled amidst lush vegetation, the Chamarel Geopark presents a geological phenomenon, an impressive work of nature. Enter the Chamarel Seven-Colored Earth clearing and discover undulating bands displaying seven color variations, ranging from ochre to purple, brown, and red. These multicolored sand dunes appear to possess all the colors of the rainbow.
My favorite beaches of Mauritius:
Le Morne Beach: One of the most beautiful beaches I have seen in my life, clear water with the beautiful view on the mountain.
Flic en Flac: The perfect beach to rest during the day and swim in the calm waters.
Trou-aux-Biches: It is simply exceptional. Stretching for several kilometers along the edge of a clear lagoon, it offers a most pleasant swimming experience with greater depth, in a region renowned for its colorful seabeds, ideal for fantastic diving.
Places to eat & drink in Mauritius

La Table Du Chateau: Located within Domaine de Labourdonnais, La Table du Château offers a refined dining experience, blending French culinary techniques with local flavors in dishes such as venison curry and mango crème brûlée.
Rhumerie de Chamarel: Rhumerie de Chamarel is a rum distillery and gastronomic destination. Distillery tours should be followed by a meal at the on-site restaurant, where dishes shine a spotlight on local ingredients and Creole recipes, and are paired perfectly with the handcrafted rums produced onsite.
Le Poivrier: Set in tropical Gardens next to LUX* Grand Baie. Dine outside in a garden setting surrounded by lush green plants. They have a delicious, extensive French and Italian-inspired menu along with refreshing cocktails and wines. Highly recommend.
Beach food vendors: I recommend getting a Roti, freshly prepared and cooked and so cheap.
Port Louis: Taste the street food, honestly the best meals at the best prices!
Need to know
My best advice for this destination is to go and experience the local culture, go to the street markets, and experience the local food. Mauritian people are really friendly and they love to share their culture. If you go to the market, take some cash with you with the local money (Roupie). It is a once-in-a-lifetime destination!
