Need to know
Oregon is a fantastic destination year-round, but the best time to visit for road trips and outdoor adventures is late spring through early fall when the weather is mild and many trails are accessible.
Travelers should be prepared for quickly changing weather, especially along the coast and in the mountains, so layering is always a good idea.
Renting a car is highly recommended since many of Oregon’s most beautiful spots—like waterfalls, coastal towns, and national parks—are best reached by scenic drives.
Most importantly, take your time exploring. Some of Oregon’s best experiences are the unexpected stops, hidden viewpoints, and charming small towns along the way.
