I hiked Machu Picchu, camped in the Amazon rainforest, explored the Galapagos Islands and biked Death Road, to name some of the bigger trips while backpacking. After I met my husband, I became a couples traveler where we combined adventure excursions with boutique hotels while immersing ourselves in the local culture. Since having kids, I have evolved into a family traveler with a little adventure sprinkled in. :) Our family travel mixes mini adventures with chilling by the pool/beach. I found that alternating excursion/adventure days with pool/beach days is the best for our family as it's fun and gives the kids time to relax in between with unstructured days. Our family has traveled abroad to St. Martin, Iceland, St. Kitts and most recently Morocco.
