One of my favorite ways to experience a new destination is through its cuisine. From hands-on cooking classes and foraging excursions to savoring meals at local restaurants, food is often the gateway to a regions culture. During my recent travels to Italy, I was especially inspired by the philosophy of la dolce far niente—the sweetness of doing nothing—which perfectly captures my approach to travel. I strive for a thoughtful balance between curated activities and sightseeing, while also leaving free time each day to immerse myself in the local culture.
