To celebrate my husband’s birthday, we recently took a 48-hour trip from Paris to explore Lyon. As the “French Capital of Gastronomy”, Lyon is a foodie’s delight and has been on our top places to visit in France for some time. A short 2-hour train ride from Paris, Lyon is perfectly situated for a quick trip but can also be a central hub for exploring some of France’s most renowned wine regions. Given our limited time, however, we decided to focus on Lyon’s historic sights and world-class dining, building in some time to relax and enjoy each other’s company.
