Site Inspection at Riu Palace Baja California in Cabo San Lucus, Mexico
Curator’s statement

I visited Riu Palace, Baja California in March of 2024, during the peak season of Spring Break with two college sophomores. From the moment we landed, our Amstar attendant greeted us for our transfer to the hotel, and it felt like our vacation had officially begun. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were warmly welcomed with mimosas and smiles. The stunning ocean view from the hotel was breathtaking, and I knew I would miss it as soon as I left. I am looking forward to returning and recommending it to guests who are looking for a fun party atmosphere with the opportunity to relax as well.

We were a group of four: two moms and two college-aged daughters on a spring break trip. We chose the Riu for its reputation for fun parties, great reviews and all-inclusive amenities. The Riu did not disappoint on any account. It served up big parties, great cocktails and delicious food. We felt safe with the security gate and hotel wristbands provided at check-in. The four pools were amazing. There were plenty of lounge chairs, but it is recommended to arrive early to secure one. The hotel's Elite package includes access to Elite Bars, Dining and Cabanas, as well as upgraded liquor and ocean-view rooms. I highly recommend adding the Elite package to your booking.

During our stay at Riu California Baja, we were pleased to find out that the resort had nightly entertainment. We enjoyed various activities such as karaoke, live music and Vegas-style dancers. However, if you are someone who loves theme parties, then Riu Cabo San Lucas is the place for you. The party here never stops, and you can enjoy a range of events from pool parties to jungle-themed parties, white parties and pink neon parties. All of these parties are accompanied by a live DJ and foam fountains. Families might enjoy the Riu Santa Fe, which hosts a small water park and playground area.

Our trip was enjoyable for everyone, and the hotel catered to all age groups. If you are a parent chaperoning at spring break, this hotel might be an ideal choice for you. Additionally, this hotel is a great option for a girls getaway, a couples trip or even a friends trip, as it caters to everyone. The employees were awesome, and they seemed happy to be doing their job. We loved the warm and fun atmosphere there.

The Riu Baja California is an exceptional hotel that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay. I am eagerly anticipating my return to this wonderful hotel and can't wait to recommend it to all my clients. With its stunning location, top-notch amenities and exceptional service, the Riu Baja California guarantees an unforgettable experience for anyone who visits.

Need to Know

I recommend Riu California Baja for your next vacation, whether you are planning a couples trip, a girls getaway, multi-couple trip or even a Spring Break trip with your parents as chaperones. If you're looking for an upscale experience, Riu Palace Baja California offers elite rooms with plenty of amenities, such as upgraded liquor, an Elite Dining Room, Elite ocean view rooms and an Elite lounge, as well as access to all of the Riu properties.

If you're traveling with your family, I suggest the Riu Santa Fe, which has a water park with slides for the kids and a nice playground. However, make sure to book your room away from the Riu Party to avoid any noise disturbance.

For the Spring Break crowd, Riu Los Cabos is the place to be. This is where the parties are held, and the swimming pool area is bustling with young adults aged 18–30.
